Family, friends and community members will gather in Hatton on Tuesday evening for a candlelight vigil in memory of Vonde Bowers, the Ottos Comprehensive School student and promising cricketer who was fatally stabbed in June.
The vigil will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Tower in Hatton before moving to Bowers’ memorial site. Attendees are being asked to wear red, symbolising strength and unity, and to bring candles.
Organisers say the event will provide a chance to share memories and pay tribute to Bowers’ life, describing it as both a moment of mourning and a celebration of his lasting impact on the community.

My thoughts and Prayers go out to his entire family, and team members. May he RIEP…
