Cameroonians Detained in the British Virgin Islands After Entering Illegally from Antigua

1. St Kitt’s, and now the British Virgin Isles.

   This is why without question there has to be an independent enquiry, it is now effecting our neighbouring islands.

   How were the Africans allowed in without proper checks and scrutiny like the rest of us?

   Antiguans were informed that the Africans were wealthy tourists – what went wrong? Were our authorities duped, or were they complicit in them here illegally?

   How much did the Immigration Department under the tutelage of Katrina Yearwood know about this whole saga?

   There must be no stone unturned to uncover what really went on between the ABLP, Gaston Browne and Marvellous Mike.

They knew from the onset where they wanted to go, but they used their tricky nature to involved innocent players to take them to their destination. If they said they were fleeing from persecution, why they didn’t used the legal channels? Now they are caught between a rock and a hard place, they are demanding audiance from the U.N and the U.S Embassy. After causing so much disturbances in the region, is to round them up and ship them back where they came from.

     • I would agree with you partially, but i do not agree that the persons that facilitated them with transport/boat ride were innocent… allot of money has been passing hands when it comes to those Africans… so how can someone be innocent if they knowingly accept money and to transport these individuals to other islands…nothing tall innocent about that.. now these Africans are pure frauds their mains goals from the onset was to reach the US main land at any cost , even if they have to lose their life for it… So the Antigua government facilitated all this by not doing their due diligence and landing them here without hesitation … so now this is what we are left with… they are illegally entering all islands at the moment causing havoc … this issue squarely lies at the foot of the ABLP government…

4. We now know that Antigua Airways was just a cover for something else. Whoever was behind setting up the airline, never got past stage 1 of 5. We now know that, contrary to what Gaston Browne and his lying cabal are saying, that these flights landed here with the full authority of the higher ups. They were not duped. Gaston Browne is a dupe yes, but a lot of high rankers were involved in this saga. And we know that this man is the epitome of greediness, so big money must have passed.
   Now we know why they are lying, twisting stories, accusing us of xenophobia and whatever else the can devise, but the fact remains, nefarious activities transpired with the full support of the Gaston Browne government.
   The man is a top notch lunatic and greed will land him where he belongs. In prison. Antigua has suffered under this clown, and we had the chance to get rid of him, but the money and trinkets were placed before country.
   As time progresses and these Africans pop up on people’s shores, it becomes obvious that the government facilitated the human trafficking, and Antigua and Barbuda’s reputation sinks into the mire.

Well, we in these islands live hand to mouth, we have little or no natural resources and have to keep our eyes peeled to seize the least chance that comes our way to survive. Africa south of the Sahara is mineral rich but governed by corrupt and incompetent politicians who when they achieve power put their pockets above all else and their people therefore suffer and are seemingly always impoverished. I follow the BVI news, also the USVI news and this would have been big news, so unless this just happen hours ago, somebody trying to put Wadadli down once again. By the way which one of the BVI island was the drop off point? And mosquitoes 🦟! you figured Africans would be able to stand a little mosquito bite, then calling authorities when trying to enter the country illegally, Ithis got to be a joke. Wow! The process in the USVI seems pretty easy.

10. I must state that no deception occurred. I make this statement as political leaders are expected to possess knowledge of global affairs and matters in foreign nations. If they lack such awareness, they are unfit to hold positions of power. Additionally, upon arrival, individuals should be able to demonstrate to immigration and customs officers that they possess adequate funds to finance their stay in Antigua. If they fail to do so, they should be denied entry and sent back on the same flight they arrived on, as is the standard protocol in metropolitan countries. Therefore, why wasn’t this practice in place in Antigua?

12. Who say these people are Cameroons, wasn’t the flight initiated from Nigeria? If these people are refugee’s, then they would have been refugee’s already in the country the flights originates, wouldn’t that be the case? So if that’s the case, how would they even get to legally past the immigration officers to board these flights in Nigeria if they do not have the proper documents to travel to the Caribbean as so-call tourist? So no, the deal were not made by the Antiguan Government without the details were made, no one was duped here. This is simply a deal gone bad, otherwise any government would want to find out how individuals were allowed to corrupt their immigration system so easily and would want someone to pay for such screwups. These things were warned of by many of us on here when the news broke about this deal last year, but they didn’t listen because there was money to be made, but now the deal has gone bad and now other islands are affected by this mess, we have people ducking and weaving and trying to avoid the blow back and just hope it goes away.

    This will not go away, it’s too messy to just go away. Someone has to answer for this fraud that was perpetrated against the citizen’s of ANTIGUA.

    No island will ever trust Antigua while doing business with present Government, no one. How can you even trust someone deflects and lie so much? Antigua is doomed politically going forward,and this fiasco will be a thorn in its flesh for years to come, years.
