The Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF) has reaffirmed its dedication to supporting The Care Project, committing EC$128,000 for the fourth consecutive year, to assist in making sure residents receive the necessary nutrition.
In addition to the financial contribution, CAF also provided essential toiletries and food supplies, ensuring the continued care and well-being of the residents.
The Care Project, a government-run facility under the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment, provides residential care for individuals with severe disabilities who require specialized support.
The facility plays a critical role in Antigua and Barbuda’s healthcare system, offering essential services for those most in need.
Over the past four years, CAF’s ongoing support has had a profound impact on the facility, allowing for the preparation of specialized meals tailored to the residents’ nutritional needs.
The Care Project’s Matron, Ashlyn Francis Samuel, highlighted the significance of this contribution, stating:
“This contribution for the last four years has made a substantial difference in how we prepare and distribute meals to the residents.
We are now able to provide specialized, targeted meals that we would not be able to without the donations from the Calvin Ayre Foundation.
Their support has allowed us to cater directly to the residents’ nutritional deficits and needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care.”
Sandy Daniel, Operations Manager of The Care Project, also expressed gratitude for the continued partnership:
“We want to say a very special thank you to the Calvin Ayre Foundation for the donation of personal items and the financial contribution of EC$128,000.
This initiative has provided nutritious meals for the residents of The Care Project for the past four years. This partnership remains strong, and we look forward to its continued success.
These donated items will be put to good use for the benefit of our residents.”
The Calvin Ayre Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower communities, focusing on key areas such as healthcare, education, and social development.
The continued partnership with The Care Project reflects the Foundation’s broader vision of creating lasting and meaningful change in Antigua and Barbuda.
“We are elated to be able to support the noble work being carried out by Matron Francis and Operations Manager, Sandy Daniel, and the entire team at the Care Project.
Their consistent efforts and passion for enhancing the lives of the residents at the facility, is something to be applauded.
We, at CAF, are all the better for it and are happy to align with such philanthropy”, said Patrice Jacobs, Media & Production Associate at the Calvin Ayre Foundation.

I hope there’s a long-term plan to sustain the program.
Every bit helps, but we also need broader policies to address food insecurity in the long run.
Great to see the Calvin Ayre Foundation continuing to support such an important cause!
