Calvin Ayre Foundation Brings Holiday Cheer to Friends Developmental Center and Grants a Special Birthday Wish

Monday, December 23rd, 2024: St. John’s, Antigua: Last Thursday, the Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF) continued its long-standing tradition of spreading holiday joy during the annual Christmas gift-giving ceremony at the Friends Developmental Center special needs facility. This much-anticipated event saw every child receiving a special gift from Mrs. Claus and her trusty assistant, Optimist 2024 winner, Jordyn Henriques, ensuring smiles and laughter filled the room.

The highlight of the day was granting the heartfelt wish of Aiden Parks-Reid, a student at the Center. Aiden, who celebrated his birthday on December 20th, had one wish: to travel. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Calvin Ayre Foundation and CalvinAir Helicopters, Aiden and his best friend, Khadejah, enjoyed an unforgettable helicopter ride, making his dream come true.

Jamilla Kirwan, Media Specialist at Ayre Media, expressed the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Center:

“On behalf of Ambassador Calvin Ayre, we wish everyone at the Friends Developmental Center a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. It’s an honor to continue supporting the incredible work done here. Improving the lives of these amazing children is at the heart of our mission, and we will remain dedicated to this cause for years to come.”

Raphael Robertson, Principal of the Friends Developmental Center, extended heartfelt gratitude for the Foundation’s contributions:

“The Calvin Ayre Foundation has been our pillar of support, and the value of what they’ve done for us is beyond measure. This partnership means so much to our staff, our children, and their families. We look forward to continuing this collaboration in 2025. Thank you for making this a celebration we all cherish.”

Kate James, Manager of the Friends Developmental Center, shared similar sentiments:

“The annual gift-giving ceremony is the most welcome day of our year. The Calvin Ayre Foundation brings more than just gifts—they bring hope and joy. Their presence and support enhance the work we do, and we are incredibly grateful.”

Aiden Parks-Reid expressed his joy and excitement following the helicopter ride:

“This is the best day ever with all my friends! Flying in a helicopter over Antigua was amazing. I want to thank everyone who made this possible—you’ve given me the best birthday ever!”

The Calvin Ayre Foundation remains committed to uplifting communities and bringing joy to those in need, especially during the holiday season. Events like these reflect CAF’s mission to improve lives and create lasting memories for individuals and families across Antigua and Barbuda.
