The Cabinet agreed that the water challenges are to be successfully addressed by September 30th2022.

By that time three (3) additional Reverse Osmosis plants will likely come on stream to supplement the 6.5 million gallons of water daily to exceed 9 million gallons, daily.

The current demand is 8 million gallons daily.

The global-logistics challenge, with ships being delayed for lengthy periods, is one of the challenges which the APUA will have to overcome.

The ordered plants and pipes have been delayed because of the trucking and shipping issues from the countries where the items have been purchased.

The drought in Antigua and Barbuda has also impacted APUA’s ability to provide as much water as is required.

The worst rainfall figures in a century were recorded last year.

While the government continues to hope for rainfall, the Cabinet has taken the position that this drought may continue for a long time and that reverse osmosis water is surely to become the only source of potable water.

  1. Can someone pinch me….wake me up ? Tell me that this cabinet report is indeed a joke.

This water situation was to be fixed within 14 days of taking office in 2014.
We are now in 2022 and now yet again another date has been given for successful resolution of the water crisis.

The goal post keeps getting moved all over the playing field. The goal keeper and the players on the field must be completely confused by now.

When will this government get serious and do the work that the people pay them to do? Oh let me take that back since it is pellucid that the government CANNOT do the work. It has failed this nation with the inability to provide a basic essential service; crying foul for 8 years and now blaming the workers at APUA for its own incompetence.

The management at APUA has remained silent as the government throw the Utility company’s workers under the bus. This is really disgusting. A manager should stand up for his staff when he knows that the team members have been doing their part to the best of their ability and with the limited resources to work with.

But no….management is part of the corruption that plagues this country.

Bunch of fools and hyprocrites. Your day will come. You will have to give account for your stewardship. Your corrupt ways will not last and your corrupt loot will not save you.

Antigua is amashed with corruption from top down to bottom up. In all aspects of society corruption reigns. But woe…the day of reckoing is fast approaching.

WAKE UP : PEOPLE. YOUR CORRUPTION WILL SOON BE YOUR DESTRUCTION!

  2. SEPTEMBER????? WTF!!!! 5 more months of suffering for the already suffering. Vote the jokers and bandits out!!

  3. They promised to fix it in 14 days….just as they promised 500 homes in 500 days.

They say whatever to get elected. They need to be kicked out until we get it right.

30th September from since 28 years ago. Wow

      • YOU AND ROBIN SAID THAT WATER PROBLEM WOULD BE A THING OF THE PAST AND YOU GUYS KICKED OUT AND HARASSED UPP OUT OF OFFICE, BUT NOW ITS A DROUGHT PROBLEM? GIMME A DAM BREAK-FAST

      • Yo Jack-Ass (SMH)… There are lots of places that suffer drought and still deliver water to their population. Your problem is that you are part of a cult that sees no wrong that the ABLP government does. Something you need to get you head out of your ass and just admit a failure every now and then. Nobody is perfect. No government is perfect. If you admit they failed on this one it would give your other positions some credence.

  4. WOW! Remember the date folks! Make a note in your diaries, mobile phones or tattoo it on your forehead.

    30th September 2022.

What Gassy 🥸 doesn’t realise (or his dormant advisors), that if he calls an election before this date, all the CRITICAL THINKERS in Antigua will realise that this is blatant electioneering geared towards those GENERATIONAL ABLP supporters (mi great grandparents, grandparents and parents voted ABLP – so will I).

And if the election is called after this date, and this promise of a functioning water system isn’t delivered it will open the door for an UPP or DNA landslide.

GASSY NOW HAS TO DELIVER ONE WAY OR THE OTHER … AGAIN, WOW, WOW, WOW!!!

  5. One should not vote for any government administration based on any promise to fix a water crisis issue.
Providing potable water to the entire nation on a regular basis is a basic fundamental function of any government.

When this basic service cannot be provided as it should then it can only be concluded that it is a FAILED SYSTEM.

No way can we blame the fact that the island is a drought prone. In fact, that very knowledge that Antigua & Barbuda suffer from drought conditions should propel any government ( In fact- even while in opposition) to formulate strategies to ensure that even though surface water is lacking that there can still be a continuous supply of potable water to the nation.

When a government has fulfilled the latter (and other functions) along with avoiding corrupt practices, then we should consider voting for that administration again.

For 8 years, the ABLP administration has failed this nation miserably. Promises made….NONE KEPT! Corruption runs deeps within that administration. Lies….deceit….fraud….. sellouts…nepotism in the highest level.

It is just not right. Anyone with just a mere sense of moral stance would see that the nation needs to rid itself of these vagabonds and criminals SOONEST. Tomorrow will be too late. They should have been gone since after 14 days; when the water issue was not solved as promised, and no apology made to the public.

Anyone with mere common sense and integrity would agree with my sentiments here. It is pellucid. The hard fact is the people are afraid of TRUTH. They prefer to live in lies. Truth hurts. It cuts like a two-edge sword. Truth demands accountability and integrity. These are what the people lack and seem not interested in obtaining. they fail to go to the ONLY SOURCE where these can be found.

The sad truth is that Corruption is so deeply embedded in the mindset of the people of Antigua. They crave for vanity. They sell their souls for temporary pleasure: fetes, rum, drugs, sex. Like the flip-flop senator said: ” Antiguans are satisfied with having merely some food to eat, a “jab”, some gas in their vehicle and two dollars in the pocket”. No interest whatsoever in demanding accountability and integrity from the people in government.

That is what the ABLP has been ding to this nation for decades. Jabbing the people in the throat and kneeling on their necks. Amazingly, the people love that type of treatment and continue to jump high and low behind these corrupt politrickians.

Get rid of the criminals who sit in parliament and cabinet. If another party goes in and do even merely similar…then get rid of them also. That is how a real democracy works.

It is time that Antiguans reject corruption and turn to the righteous path.

If we continue in this way even for a bit longer, it is quite obvious that destruction lies knocking at our door.

The people suffer not for lack of knowledge. For knowledge has indeed increased, but with the vast availability of knowledge there has been a drastic decrease in wisdom. The more knowledge the people acquire they become more foolish and corrupt.

WORLD “CRYSIS”: WAKE UP, ANTIGUANS. YOUR DAY OF RECKONING IS AT HAND.

  6. This is all very predictable. The Antigua Met office has been warning for years. No party has taken this problem on and prays for rain instead. My only option now is to abstain from voting. It won’t do any good but at least I won’t be endorsing a either failed regime.
