The Cabinet has approved a request from the police to seek international assistance in investigating the recent murder of St. Peter’s MP Asot Michael, found with multiple stab wounds on Tuesday. Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin, after consulting with the police crime division, proposed involving Scotland Yard to support the investigation, including the unresolved killings of two teenage girls, Achacia James and Yanica Bridge, earlier this year.
The government also plans to enlist a forensic pathologist from the UK, following advice from local pathologist Dr. Lester Simon. The family may choose their own forensic expert if desired. Addressing rumors, Sir Steadroy confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with Michael’s death, though police continue to conduct interviews.
