(Hurst Cabinet Notes)
The Cabinet considered a gasoline subsidy for buses operating throughout Antigua, bringing passengers from rural Antigua to St. John’s, each weekday.
The object of the new policy would be to ensure that buses which are compelled to reduce the number of passengers which can lawfully be carried on each trip, receive an amount that reflects a gasoline subsidy to compensate in part for the reduction.
The details are to be worked-out with the Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board after the August holidays.

Is this a big joke or the Cabinet is a joke? First, the Cabinet gave bus drivers permission to ply their trade with the buses full to capacity. Now, Cabinet is going to give to bus drivers a gasoline subsidy so that they will carry less passengers. By the way, we all need to benefit from reduce fuel prices. I wonder when Cabinet will finally get something right from the outset and stop its incessant flip flopping.
Tabor what is it really you want. Do want a government that listen to the people or not. Because it is for this reason the policy has be evolving so rapidly. Everyone understand that their is no manual how to react to Covid everything is new and trial and error. First bus drivers were not allowed to carry a full load. Than they complained and met with Cabinet. Than it was agreed that they will carry a full load but with strict adherence to the procedures which they did not keep. Now I guess Cabinet is again trying something to see if that will work. It’s one of those thing when you just cannot please all. I mean restaurants and bar also have to do with less people but you do not hear them asking for subsidy. But I guess government want to please as many people as they can. I’ glad I’m not in their shoes. Cause you dammed is you do and dammed if you don’t anyway. Which is what you are displaying here.
I thought the buses were running in there full capacities now.When they were operating at a minimum capacity.Why they were not helped out then?Those owners of buses could have really used the help then.They were crying out,daily.It all fell on deafen ears.Now the Kitchen Cabinet is coming out at this time.They want to look like the savior of the bus owners.Come on you old farts.Were your brains dead 3 months ago? The August Holidays ends today.Let us see action by next week.Because you guys would make promises.Only to forget those promises made.
