CABINET NOTES: The Cabinet decided to strengthen its relations with the Antigua and Barbudan Diaspora in several North American Cities; since New York City is home to the largest number of nationals from Antigua and Barbuda, the very first support system—external to the United Nations Mission and the Consulate in New York—will likely be appointed within weeks.

  1. The Cabinet needs to know Antiguan and Barbudans living in the diaspora mostly desist Trump and compares him to Gaston Browne. We are not easily swayed with handouts and bribery like Dave Ray and your other blind beggars and scammers living among us . Good luck because you cannot convince 10% of Antiguans and 1% of Barbudans that you’re worth the salt.

    • You sound very SPITEFUL and full of HATRED!!!! Not good for your heart health or your mental health. Not everyone agrees with your NASTY stance. The majority will continue to support the Gaston Browne administration whether you like it or not!!!! Get over it!!!!!

Your llittle keyboard ramblings will not change the FACT that he is the Prime Minister!!!

  2. You can check all the IP addresses as you wish to do , nobody is afraid of you . We are not about wealth and from poverty to riches. We have life and love our country and choosing to live in another country is a choice for many. The Diaspora Progressives will live on because we do not rely on government handouts to help our people in need in Antigua. We shall survive so tell those back stabbers who feed you information, we will not be deterred.

  3. Once again the Gaston Brown and his Government uses their rethorical flourishes and disingenuous promises in his attempt to fool the Dyaspora as he does locally

Gaston got rid of the Consulate Office in NYC, when he became Prime Minister some years ago.
His thinking then and remains that The Diaspora had no value to his political career; given the majority supported the Opposition
Now Donand Trump is about to send back a whole lot of Antiguans and Barbudans; many of whom are Jamaican Nationals with Antigua and Barbuda passport. He is forced to have a Consulate Office

It is a Country’s Council Office that has to deal with Homeland Security and deportees issues.
The UN offices are not supposed to be handling such issues, but Antigua have been doing do do under the rader.

So this thing about dyaspora engagement is not what he says.
We in the Dyaspora are not a group who do not read; and when we read we are Not among those who cannot analyze beyond the crap that Gaston and his people put out.
What does strengthening ties mean? To sponsor a concert in Marcus Garvey Park?
We are not bought by concerts or duty free consesions.
Our kids earn their scholarships through hard word and their academic achievement.
We do not live by jargons, rethoric and enough promises.
We rather a system where even faced with discrimination we have redress , rather than a “Who you know” political and social system.
This to institute system in Gocernment of efficiency and meritocracy.
It is an ansthma to your political survival, and I don’t expect Gaston Brown to commit political suicide

  4. A few years ago (6), my aunt in Antigua got me an audience with the Minister of Health. My goal for the meeting was to offer my services as an experienced physician with a subspecialty not available on the island. I presented my credentials undergraduate of a well-respected college in New York, graduate of a very well thought of medical school and board certified in my specialty and sub-specialty. At that time, I was in practice for almost 25 years.

The honorable gentleman was almost two hours late for my appointment, he did not ask me to sit down but ask me what I was expecting to get out of my offer to come home twice a year to see complex patients. He seemed more interested in my family political affiliations. He told me that he would have a representative from the diaspora contact me. I’ve yet to hear from anyone.

My point, there are many of us living in other countries who are well trained professionals who are willing to offer our services as proud Antiguans. I’m disappointed every time I come to Antigua and see how little progress they’ve made as far as the infrastructure is concerned. The people deserve better, and we can help if someone would seek us out and ask. Most of us are apolitical and just want to preserve the paradise that live in our heads and hearts.

Antigua as it is at this time reminds me of Charles Dicken’s: A Tale of Two Cities….It was the best of Times; it was the worst of Times. It didn’t go well for Marie Antionette.

  5. Not everything has to involve the government though. People in the diaspora who wish to assist could also choose to get together and start a private investment club and invest in locals on island with good business ideas (like the show Shark Tank) if they really do care.
