The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has congratulated Antiguan farmer Twin I Payne after he won the top prize at Agrifest in St Croix for the second consecutive year.
Mr Payne, representing Twin Stod Enterprise, impressed judges at the annual agricultural show in the United States Virgin Islands with the quality and presentation of his livestock and crops.
Cabinet described the achievement as a proud moment for the country, saying his success highlights high standards and innovation in local agriculture and strengthens its regional profile.
Ministers also approved financial assistance to help cover costs associated with attending the event. Officials said the support forms part of a wider effort to encourage competitiveness and reward excellence in the agricultural sector.
The government pledged continued backing for farmers representing the country at regional and international events, adding that such achievements could inspire young people and contribute to greater food security and resilience.
