Cabinet Considers Moving Senior Panorama to Sir Viv
The Cabinet is considering a proposal to host the Senior Panorama Competition at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, using the successful format of this year’s Junior Panorama as a model for revitalizing the national steelband showcase.
Director General of Communications Maurice Merchant said Cabinet members praised the outstanding execution of the 44th Independence Anniversary celebrations, particularly the Junior Panorama, which featured vibrant performances and strong youth participation.
Merchant said the Junior Panorama’s organization and crowd turnout impressed Cabinet members, prompting discussions about adopting a similar two-stage format for the Senior Panorama during Carnival. The move, he said, could elevate production standards, improve audience experience, and strengthen the cultural profile of the event.
He added that further consultations with stakeholders in the cultural sector will take place before a final decision is made. Cabinet also extended congratulations to the Ministry of Festivals and its team, led by Minister Daryll Matthew, for the success of the Independence celebrations.

Pigganearga went to support Pigganearga subben. You all think the same set ah Pigganearga go support senior steel band show…bout crowd turnout impressed them.
Are you mad? Sir Viv stadium have nothing to do with the turnout and as rar as performance and music, I’ve seen and heard way better in past school panorama competition. Big up Villa Primary.
We need to find ways to expose and at the same time expand our pan art form. Here we go, it’s about time for TnT carnival again and all through the year pan activities continues to flow, not only that, during carnival instead of just panorama night pan remains relevant throughout the entire festival.
All the Big bands just throw a pan bash for the maestro Boogsie birthday and single pan competition is just around the corner, keep in mind when we speak of competition, we are talking about solid, professional performance all around.
Pan was a major part of our Jouvert, now not even one and you think by now Barbuda would’ve had at least one huge band representing on panorama night or even in the schools competition. Come on Wadadli we kept ranking ourselves with TnT, but lots of work still needed.
