Cabinet Notes- The Honourable Minister for Health briefed Cabinet on developments at the newly opened Tranquility Park Cemetery, following recent heavy rainfall during which more than nine inches of rain fell within a 24-hour period, resulting in significant waterlogging at the site.
The Minister further reported that the St. John’s and Valley Church Cemeteries were also affected by flooding due to the intensity of the rainfall.
In response, the Ministry sought Cabinet’s approval for the installation of a drainage system.
The Prime Minister and Cabinet approved the request and directed the Minister to proceed expeditiously with the necessary works to address the challenges identified at the cemetery.

Trupz!
The prime minister approved the request
And asked that it be done expediously!🤣
That means right away my people 🤣
Kudos Plenty of advice
Wasn’t an Environmental Assessment done to include soil test and the directional flow of the underground water table?
A 13 million dollar animal paddock
So they didn’t know to construct the drainage during the construction of the cemetery? It is just like DCA telling us to build a cistern on our home when building. It is like this country is going backwards and backwards by 4 steps instead of 2 steps. Everyone knows that entire area in Tomlinson is an area prone for flooding. So, you’re telling me that no one in DCA (who approved the design plan) and Public Works (who oversees the construction work) knows??
Peace of mind for visitors and families is priceless. Thankful this is finally happening.
I didn’t realize something like that required cabinet approval. .thought that’s standard and should have been part of the original plan
Good move, but I hope they use proper materials and not just quick fixes. Flooding at Tranquility Park is more than an eyesore it’s disrespectful to the graves.
