Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph has informed Cabinet that strokes and heart failures are major challenges for Antigua and Barbuda’s healthcare system. He secured approval to establish a cardiology unit at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) to address the rising threat of heart failure, now surpassing diabetes and hypertension as the leading health concern. The specialized unit aims to provide critical care and support to patients and their families, tackling a condition that often strikes unexpectedly with devastating effects.

  1. Good.
Wasn’t this promised before and trumpeted?
    Please add education to public
And retrain of GP’s in how to assess symptoms of degenerative types of heart disease with medications that can be used and titrated over time to give patients comfort and ability to live their lives longer.

  2. Yes folks, this has nothing to do with shots, especially not the ones that were known for “rare” heart related side-effects:
    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/mhra-issues-new-advice-concluding-a-possible-link-between-covid-19-vaccine-astrazeneca-and-extremely-rare-unlikely-to-occur-blood-clots

It’s just a coincidence that these issues became more frequent around the time they were given out. Let’s just put these events behind us and sing kum ba yah.

  3. This level of journalism is unsatisfactory. We want more than just what the Health Minister says. Why all of a sudden we are seeing this rapid rise in heart failure and strokes. These two disease are somewhat related – has to do with the blood flow. While it is a good plan to introduce the cardiology department, what is the root cause to this increase? What plans are in place to curtail this increase? We need to stop people from even reaching the cardiology department.

The vaccines were known to cause Myocarditis and Pericarditis (inflammation of the heart muscles and outlining). Is this a possible cause and is information taken about the vaccine status of those who are affected?

  4. Until the recognition and acceptance of what the main driver of the massive increase is — only then, perhaps, a real solution will be found.
In the meantime, cutting inflammation in the body is vital to reducing the risks.
