Police are investigating an armed robbery on Old Parham Road that left a businessman injured early Wednesday morning.
The victim, who runs a distribution company, was attacked around 5 a.m. as he arrived at a bank to make a deposit. Two masked men confronted him, one carrying a firearm. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHAT’S APP GROUP
The armed suspect demanded cash, struck the man in the eye, and fled with a bag containing money. The injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Officers are appealing for information and have urged anyone who can assist the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department.

Now why would you go to deposit money at that hour. It seems like it’s his routine so they were waiting. Please be vigilant especially when doing deposits. The bank should have cameras. This is madness. These thieves are stupid. I’m sure they can’t see that money.
With all that is going on in Antigua, I am surprised that a business man would want to seek to deposit money at an ATM at 5am. Believe it of not, bandits are carefully watching and monitoring business people every move and waiting for the appropriate time to make their attack. People need to be more security conscious these days as they risk not only losing their monies but their lives.
After all the things thats going on people still doing the same nonesence. Why not make your deposits in the morning? Unless its a set up. These days you cant trust anyone.
A business man who decide to make a deposit at that time by himself without being strap is clearly asking to be hijacked and I want to believe he didn’t even checked the surroundings before making his move.
Business People who are depositing need to change their routine, like the day and time. Do not deposit during the dark period of any day. That is my advice.
