The Browne’s Avenue Clinic has reopened in a temporary home at the former Holberton Hospital, following a ceremony on Wednesday.

Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph, alongside senior health officials, marked the occasion with prayers led by Pastor Olson Daniel. Sir Molwyn said the move vindicated the government’s decision to renovate parts of the Holberton compound, once criticised as wasteful. The site will also house sickle cell patients with access to overnight care for the first time.

The relocation was ordered after conditions at the Browne’s Avenue facility deteriorated. All services previously offered there will continue at Holberton. The clinic, along with All Saints Clinic, remains closed for major repairs and expansion.

Since 2014, Sir Molwyn noted, the government has spent millions restoring and expanding primary healthcare after a review found years of neglect at every public clinic.
