Prime Minister Gaston Browne has confirmed that the government will acquire additional concrete trucks to meet the growing demand created by an expanded programme of roadworks.

Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show, Mr Browne acknowledged complaints from residents that construction projects were being delayed because contractors could not secure enough trucks to distribute concrete across the island.

“There are so many roads we’re doing now that we just don’t have sufficient trucks,” commented Senator Lamin Newton. The Prime Minister agreed, responding: “We’ll buy more”Browne and Browne Show.

The purchase is expected to ease bottlenecks in the government’s infrastructure push, which includes new road construction and housing development.
