Prime Minister Gaston Browne is encouraging the public to choose locally produced honey as a way to support the economy and promote sustainability.
Speaking at a honey-tasting event held at his office, Mr Browne praised the distinctive taste of domestic varieties, including Wildflower Honey from Antigua and Logwood Honey from Barbuda.
He commended the Beekeepers’ Cooperative for raising the profile of local honey and highlighted the wider benefits of beekeeping, including its role in preserving biodiversity.
“Buying local makes a difference,” he said, urging residents to back the work of the nation’s beekeepers.

I always go for local honey… It’s the best
Proud to support local!
I always support Parks honey when I’m in Antigua, it’s so good!!!!!
Gaston when you allow PLH and white people to clear all Barbuda forest and kill the wild life that includes the honey bee’s.
Mr. Prime Minister, I will support any locally made item, as long as it is not to my own detriment. I mean I understand that quality wise they are perhaps superior, but their price if out of this world. So if their price is affordable yes I will support them. If not I will continue buying the imported USA grad A.
Some years ago a caucasion lady and her son were selling honey for $25 per 500ml Bottle. The beekeepers association got so upset with them and treatened them. They had to stop selling honey that cheap. And it was 100% pure honey. I have not seen them around for sometime now. I wonder if they chase them out of the country.
