British cop expected in court today to face rape charge

The British police officer who was recently extradited to Antigua is expected before a Magistrate this morning for his first court appearance.

The 25-year-old arrived in Antigua on Sunday.

It is alleged that while on vacation in Antigua and Barbuda three years ago, he met with a foreign student studying here and allegedly raped her.

However, before the suspected police officer could be apprehended he went back to the UK in late May of 2015.

He is expected to appear before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh in the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court.
