Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emmanuel has granted bail to Brian Benjamin, who appeared in court on Tuesday facing a charge of shooting with intent to murder.

The 59-year-old All Saints resident is accused of attempting to murder Simon Farrell at Sanderson’s Estate.

Benjamin’s bail has been set at $20,000, with a $5,000 cash component. He is also required to provide two sureties.

As part of his bail conditions, Benjamin must report to the All Saints Police Station every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until his next court appearance on 4 December.

  1. Come on ANR.. you need to put your best reporters on these type of cases.

Did your reporter ask the question as to why bail was granted in this specific case?

That type of information is more important and transparent to the public. Antiguan’s are very uneasy right now, so it would be good to press the public relations officer a little harder for these pertinent answers, otherwise people are just going to speculate and come to their own conclusions.

  2. This should not have escalated this far. These two gentlemen are first cousins – brother and sister children. It was a simple trespassing and no one gave way. The one that got shot and his son should have turned back when issued a stop order. On the other hand they should have just allowed them to pass for the last time and report the matter or even put up a barrier.
Hey brother and sister children and their two sons, which might lead to enemies for life.
In the news it was reported that two of the men were hospitalized. It is only Mr. Semion Farrell the gentleman that got shot, that is hospitalized. Both Jace Farrell and Brian Benjamin senior were treated and released.
Now these blood relatives crossed dangerous boundaries, is it possible that they can now forgive, restitute and live in peace. Restitution does not mean that justice should not be served. It simply means that one must recognize that they did wrong or was wronged and is willing to seek forgiveness or ask for forgiveness.
