Breaking News: Woman Charged with Murder of Chantel Crump

A 20-year-old woman, Angela Mejia, has been charged with the murder of nine-year-old Chantel Crump, following a swift police investigation. Authorities laid the charges less than 24 hours after Chantel’s body was discovered in a bushy area in Weatherills in the early hours of Saturday.

According to police reports, Mejia led law enforcement officers to the location where the girl’s body was found. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the nation, triggering widespread grief and urgent calls for justice.

Chantel, a student of Five Islands Primary School, was allegedly abducted by Mejia on Wednesday afternoon while on her way home. Witnesses reported seeing the child waving to her schoolmates from a Honda car on Number 2 George Street in Grays Farm. Tragically, this was the last time she was seen alive.

In response to the national tragedy, Prime Minister Gaston Browne addressed the nation, expressing his profound grief and outrage. “I cannot honestly say that I do not feel anger and outrage at the murder of this innocent child,” he stated. The Prime Minister assured citizens that his administration would not rest until justice is fully served. “This is not only on behalf of Chantel and her family but also to safeguard every other child—and every other person—from anyone in our society who would commit such heinous acts.”

Browne also announced that his government would bolster police investigative capabilities, including the introduction of cadaver dogs trained to locate bodies and detect DNA evidence. “We will stamp out this evil that has befallen our country before it spreads any further,” he pledged. He called on the public to assist law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Antigua and Barbuda remains a safe place for all, particularly its children.

MP Rawdon Turner also expressed deep sorrow, describing the loss as one that “has shaken us to our core, leaving an emptiness that can never be filled.” He urged citizens to honor Chantel’s memory by strengthening their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s youth.

Dwayne George shared his sympathies, calling Chantel’s murder a “heartbreaking moment for the entire community.” He urged collective action, stating, “May her memory serve as a call to action to ensure that no other child suffers such a fate.”

The Antigua and Barbuda Holistic Coalition, Inc., through its Founder and President Cerene Prince, also extended condolences. “We cannot begin to fathom the pain and sorrow you are enduring during this difficult time,” Prince stated, offering prayers for Chantel’s family and hope for their healing.

Authorities have vowed to pursue the case with urgency, and the public continues to demand swift legal proceedings. As the nation mourns, the focus remains on ensuring justice for Chantel Crump.

  1. They better ask her about the Spanish girl too the one she does hang with that they found dead the very night she picked her up in town n left the son on Jonas road

  2. Not enough information. What about the other ‘person of interest’?
Is he still being held as ‘a person of interest’ or a ‘suspect’?
    Or has investigations exonerated him?

  3. Yes, I also believe that doctors, nurses and police are also involved in the black-market body parts selling. It’s a multiple-million-dollar market happening all around the world where children and young adults are kidnapped daily and sold their body parts to the highest bidder. Many people visit Antigua daily, some for vacation and some to check out the country’s security system. The security system is weak and open-wide, mainly the water borders and the airport, which are no different. Antigua’s people and government need to take homeland security very seriously. We are living in serious times and with other cultural generations.
We pray 🙏 for the hands of God on Antigua and Barbuda.

  4. I don’t believe she is the only one involved in this hideous crime. We still need to find the other individuals. We also need to solve the other cold cases, in addition to addressing the presence of human trafficking in Antigua and Barbuda.

  5. No lawyers should take up this case, lock her up in a dark cold cell with no food or water, because if you dont have no mercy of a 9year old innocent child that never did nothing to you, then why should we now the public have mercy on you. They say leave all VENGEANCE!! leave it to God but this one we a go deal with you.
    Wick nastiness

  6. What about the. Man. His ass should be burnt to. Wa really a go on. Oh. Gosh wa that little child that little baby. Done to. Get. Treated like that oh. Gosh

Bang ansa outta she if must be
    Justice for Chantel Crump

  8. Charged? I can feel the justice system already failing this baby girl Crump. And what about the man? He just gonna be released? THEY SHOULD BE KILLED NOT CHARGED

  9. “Angela Mejia to face Death Penalty for the murder of Chantel Crump” just thinking of what I wanna hear after her first court hearing

  10. Ask her about the little boy that is missing since last year from five island school too and also the owner for the car should be punish too he is just as bad as her and the nation need to know what ho else is involved

  11. The brutal and senseless murder of 9-year-old Chantel Crump has left an entire community in anguish, grappling with the weight of such an unthinkable act. The pain felt by her family is immeasurable, and the idea of her killer receiving life imprisonment instead of the death penalty feels like an injustice, forcing taxpayers—including Chantel’s own loved ones—to sustain someone who committed such evil. In moments like these, emotions run high, and the demand for the harshest possible punishment is understandable.

Justice should reflect the severity of the crime, bringing both accountability and a sense of closure to those left behind. While no sentence can truly erase the pain, the pursuit of justice must prioritize the victim’s memory, the family’s grief, and the community’s right to safety.

  12. May she suffer 100 times the amount of pain she caused. She shall know no peace for the rest of her miserable life. May she see Chantel each time she closes her wicked eyes.
    Wicked soul
    Justice for Chantel Crump

  13. People keep saying an entire community is in grief but is not just the community the entire country is in grief.

  14. I guess they had to find a body before they charge the dirty skank. But you will pay. Believe me you must pay. Sorry for you now

  15. Just look at that eyes. She looks like she is possessed. I hope bail is denied. When you get to the prison may the women in there beat you ass to death.

  16. If I was a lawyer I would take an extended vacation to avoid being contacted to represent this demon. Let me see which lawyer in Antigua will represent her. Waiting to see

  17. I really don’t understand how this young girl can kill this little girl. She had to attempt or done this before. Or she is involved with a group or some system of evil. This is not isolated. She has other knowledge of things.

She should be pshyco analyzed. Professionals should dig deeper into her. She should be interrogated by FBI, Scotland Yard or some more experienced law enforcement organization.
    Trust me.

  18. well well. charged with murda.. like the swift actions by th epolice on this but what about the man? WHAT ABOUT HIM

  19. ” Chantel wave to her friends from the car window” and that was the last time she was seen alive.

That peace of information shook me to the core. Smh.

A innocent child that was just happy to be alive, filled with excitement about life, and this evil person took that beautiful live from her.

Just sad sad all the way around.
My heart goes out to Chantels love ones and the many murdered and missing victims in Antigua and the world.

  20. She better talk who sergeant remove Chantel eyes, mek sure she wicked ass tell u weh d little gyal eyes them at.

  21. Don’t think is this girl alone involved in that she only so heartless as a woman to do that to a child 20 years or age ? Your life just waste why did you do that to her? For what what was your reason smh

  22. I don’t think any lawyer should get involved. They just need to try the case 1time and get the rid of her 1 time.

  23. Why did she do it allegedly?
    What happen?
    We need details..
    This is a public matter,
We need to know if other people are involved..
This looks a little fishy to me..
I hope the police come clean and report the facts only. Time will tell.
    Font sugar coat nothing!.
    Thanks
    Prayers for the grieving family!
I’m willing to bet something sinister is going on here🤔

  24. Lawyers will Represent the accused very well Because that’s what’s happening in all the Caribbean Islands .The Police Should extract all important information.from the Accuse then execute all those involved

  25. The eyes have it!!
Psychopathic personality is a personality construct characterized by impaired empathy and remorse, in combination with traits of boldness, disinhibition, and egocentrism. These traits are often masked by superficial charm and immunity to stress, which create an outward appearance of apparent normalcy.

With these simple looking personality traits, I believe any of us might have been drawn in. What to look for? Empty eyes and smiles that never reach the eyes.

May we pray in earnest for even more revelation. God is NOT ASLEEP..

  26. The 5 criminal lawyers likely to represent her screenshotting every single hate comment to make the case that their client cannot get a Free Trial any jury constituted to try this case.

  27. She needs to answer questions regarding other missing persons as well and the names of the other culprits involved. She did the kidnapping, someone else did the killing! The police need to find the others before they abscond to Santo Domingo.

  28. I can’t help but wonder if her and her acomplice were also involved with the many murdered and missing persons in Antigua over the past year. Does anyone know if the child’s organs are missing?

  29. Is the investigation being turned political?
    Now Dwayne George.
    Arrest?? Already??
Once arrested accused is not obligated to speak to investigators. Investigators should know that.
Body discovered and arrest less than 24 hours on a weekend.
Time sleeps on the weekend when investigations are ongoing. Today is Saturday. Why arrest and charge already!!!
Perfect timing to do more interrogations and find accomplices.
That’s dead now especially if she arms herself with a lawyer.
Investigators should have known to grant her some freedom and pick her up five minutes again rather than arrest and charge already.
Accomplices are now at large and accused may never identify any after her arrest.
Lead investigator has erred. Crime chief has erred. COP has erred.
Investigations is not about pleasing public. It’s about tightening screws.

  30. We want the major players , not just the mule. This got to be done swiftly before they flee the country. It cannot be that young lady alone.

  31. Dutty bitch, big pork Angela, ya scunt haffu dead.
Anyway ya put um. You want play ya blood thirsty?
    Ya scunt must dead.

  32. Stop it. We are all to blame. There is no community love in this country. No one cares about no one but now the crocodile tears are out in full stream until the next incident. Very similiar reactions when the young woman was found murdered and her child was found abandoned on Jonas Road. Antiguans, let us all take a good, long look at ourselves in the mirror and swear to do better as human beings who profess to love Jesus. Your emotional and made for social outbursts will assist a No Case Submission. And the accused must have legal representation. That is the law. We are a civilised country that has laws. Without laws there would be anarchy and real lawlessness and we would be no better than the murderer.

  33. Wait is this news portal though belong to ALP is going to use Chantels death for political mileage campaigning by mentioning Dwayne George the post office

  34. The Lord Perserveth all then that love Him,but all the wicked will be destroy.Psalm 145:20..My heart bleeds for that little Angel as a mother it pains me to my core..I pray that the Lord will grant Strength and comfort to the hearts of the parents as they try to cope with the loss of their child.May her soul rest in peace.

  35. Charged with murder? You mean charged with conspiracy to murder!!! Find the real culprits please!!! I don’t see how a 20 year old can murder a 9 year old just so!

  36. Ok I agree with most of the comments but let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
    1. There was a boy reported missing from the same school was he ever found? Was an official Police communique issued in that matter?
    2. The PMS student murdered on the beach. Same bag of noise no nothing from the police! 9 days talking and life continues! Was anything reported by the police? Answer NO!!!
    3. What of the police daughter who had her throat slashed on her way to school? That incident died after all the bawling and candle lights.
    4. What of the young Spanish girl found in fig tree while her son was miles away on Jonas Road? After all the noise and 9 days talking, any thing from the COP?
The reality is we “ bark a good fight” !!!!!
Waiting to see how this one plays out!!!
JUSTICE FOR ALL FAMILIES WITH MISSING MEMBERS AND MURDER VICTIMS
    HANG THEM HIGH

  37. Just charging her isn’t good enough. The police are letting criminals like her off too easily. They are supposed to torture her until death. Give her a well-deserved slow and painful death, and set her as an example to the rest of those demons dressed in human skin. And, if they don’t want to do that, let the public deal with her. The justice system has just gotten too soft now…

  38. BOOM I AGREE WITH YOU. EVERY ONE OF THOSE MURDERS REMAIN UNSOLVED AND ALL THE NOISE DIED DOWN. HAS ANYONE BEEN ARRESTED FOR THOSE MURDERS? MORE IMPORTANTLY WHAT HAPPEN SHE MAN? THE ACCOMPLICE OR WHATEVER HE IS. HE WAS DRIVING THE CAR REGISTERED IN HIS NAME. HE WAS WITH HER UP TO THE END. HE WAS THERE WHEN HER CLOTHES AND KNAPSACJ WERE FOUND. WHY ISNT HE CHARGED EQUALLY AS HER? WHERE IS HE? IS HE IN PRISON? THEY BOTH NEED THE DEATH PENALTY REGARDLESS OF WHO DO THE ACTUAL KILLING. IM SURE HE PHYSICALLY HELPED HER DO IT… EVERYONE READING THIS PLEASE BEGIN TO RAISE HELL ABOUT THE MAN WHO NEEDS TO BE CHARGED AS WELL. JUSTICE = THE DEATH PENALTY! NO JUSTICE! NO PEACE! KNOW JUSTICE! KNOW PEACE!

  39. What happened to this pedophile. Heard he has been with this murderer since she was a little girl. Hold onto him until he talk. Just don’t charge her and send her to the prison, continue interrogating her until she spill everything. I don’t believe she did this alone and know areas like this. Just think, what young woman would know this area, unless she has been there before.

  40. I’m more interested in what she may know about any other such activity.
Is there a ring? Is she a member of any occult group? Is she doing this on the behalf of anyone?
Allegedly, persons known to her have also disappeared, can she provide insights? The public needs to know. There are deeper more sinister issues here. POMPEY WAY YOU?

  41. Parents need to educate their children about strangers, if they don’t know them then they don’t go with them, regardless if they’re told mom or dad asked me to collect you.

  42. She took the blame, but we know others were involved. Wah she do wid de organs and dem??? Ah who get dem!!! This crime goes alllllll the way UP! MORE PEOPLE WERE INVOLVED IN CHANTEL’S MURDER!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. This girl and whoever else need to die a slow day the government needs to bring back hanging or shock them.. they kill they should die no remorse

  44. The entire Caribbean are in tears. Very sad situation. I am a mother of two daughters, and this truly breaks my heart. She deserves to be punished by the full extent of the law.

  45. Woman I would not hold any trial for you! I wouldn’t even want to hear what you have to say. I would end your life just like you did this poor innocent baby.

  46. Girl we know there is a lot more you want to tell the police.

We doubt this is the first time you engaged in something like that so please speak up and tell us who else has fallen prey to you and your clique

  47. The spanish community is in anguish tonight. Tindale road quite quiet, hatton quiet quiet. Their faces are very sad. Not all Spanish people are bad…but this one there is the devil

  48. What about the murder of the Spanish girl Yennifer Bridge? Reports said she was last seen getting into a silver/grey car with her son and stroller.

They would have both know each other from the Tindall Road area also. Seems suspicious to me.

  49. There should not be any case calling from the time this wicked animal admitted of picking up the little child the animal is guilty as charge and she and whoever were with her should be taken to a four corners of a road and be burnt to death
No more of taxes payer money should feed them. Wicked set of foreigners in our sweet little island. Any lawyer who take this case is wicked as CHANTEL murderers. I say burn this wicked animals now burn them now.

  50. How do you know what the Police have? I don’t think that anyone expects them to alert the public of all the details. She doesn’t have to assist with the investigation, before/ after being charged and with/without a lawyer. Irrespective of all that we know and speculate, she still has rights that are afforded to all of us.

  51. Y’all saying so confidently that someone else did the killing is a part of why this bitch could do the crime in the first place.
Y’all don’t believe a woman can be so wicked, she can.
She abducted Chantel and was among the people to dash Chantel in the bushes because she knew exactly where Chantel was.
She was there at the very beginning and the end of the crime.
I won’t take her out of the middle.

  52. What about the others that are involved in murdering the child, she didnt do this by her self. Their are more people involved. They just want Antigua people to be quiet by giving us a scape goat. We need more information and more detective work done to bring the other accomplices to prison. We just scratching the surface this shit goes deeper. I also believe the police that died have some kinda connection to this case.Remember God nah sleep.

  53. There has to be more c people involved. It’s possibly an entire organization specializing in organ trafficking or some other equally heinous criminal endeavor. This might crack all those missing persons cold cases on the island; so, mek she and the man evil rass talk by any means necessary and by so doing bring back a measure of peace, safety, and tranquility to our island home

  54. In my opinion yes she’s mentally ill but she could’ve still understand good from evil. A lot of bad things happened in her life growing up thus leading up to this murder of innocent chantel. Knowing what I know about her there has to be more to the story.

  55. @Mr. Byam. This is not a time for you to be talking your shit. If your last name really is Byam then you are the last person to be talking about mass deportations considering that name and its history in Antigua.
