Real News Antigua: Local businesses continue to be targeted by thieves and robbers.
According to reports, thieves broke into the storeroom of an All Saints villager’s mechanic shop and stole several items.
This offence reportedly occurred between 7:20 p.m. on January 23 and 7:30 a.m. on January 24, at Belmont, and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was informed.
Apparently, the man had secured his storeroom, leaving all the items intact, before going home.
However, upon his return the following day, he discovered that the northern section had been broken into.
The intruders apparently had used force to break a window and open three louvres and then pried open a section of a burglar bar.
Once inside, they stole a battery charger, a compressor, 12 bottles of coolant, 12 bottles of Castro oil, a dozen oil filters, a three-ton floor jack, and a Pro Master tool kit.
Reportedly, several vehicles on which the victim was working were also vandalized, with their glass parts broken.
