The Barbuda People’s Movement has responded with “shock and anger” over the absence of a pharmacist at The Hannah Thomas Hospital.
The BMP claims the problem has existed “for over three weeks.”
“We condemn this neglect in the strongest terms,” the opposition party said in a news release.
The BPM is calling on the Chair of Health Committee, Ms. Desouza to “immediately apologise for her neglect and tell the people how she intends to go forward or simply resign.”
“If the labor government were at all serious about our healthcare, they would form a proper partnership with the Ministry of Health to allow a pharmacist to fill the position during the interim, develop a rotation plan with other medical institutions and offer a bonded scholarship to a qualified Barbudan in the aforesaid discipline,” the party said.
