Bowen withdraws his endorsement of Richard Lewis for UPP leader

3. The pandering and backpedaling is one of the things that shows us that the UPP isn’t ready. If you truly supported the MP for leadership and with good intent, publishing your support would not have been an issue. It shows a leaning towards hiding information from the public. Stop the stupid infighting if leading the country is what you intend to do. Citizens don’t want to come out of one bad situation and right into another. We want a mature solution not just the other side of the same coin. Richard Lewis is the most sensible option for leadership the party has had since Baldwin Spencer retired.

     What lawyer signs a letter of endorsement addressing party members and sent to party members, then completely goes into a panic and reverses his supposedly well thought out opinion, just because the media got hold of it?

     Where in the world has any real rough and tumble hardback politician done this? This is the kind of spine with which he expects to get rid of Gaston?

     Was he promised something? Will Pringle make him the deputy?

     Where is the strength of conviction? What is really going on behind the scenes?

     As for Senator Johnathan I suspect he buckled under pressure. Gisele Isaac (the real leader of the UPP at this time) is not easy tarl!

I endorse this move..I didn’t comment on the earlier article about the news of the signed endorsement that was posted here, because this very sentiment that is now expressed by Mr Bowen, is the very sentiment I was thinking, and I didn’t want to give more fuel to the ALP minions to attack the integrity of the UPP any further,so refrained from posting anything on that article back then, so I truly endorse this message and the sentiment that is sent by Mr Bowen and Joseph.
   Endorse who you may, but it’s better done in quiet.

   Not all things between your family/brothers has to be made public.

   I like the maturity and humility that’s shown here by this move..well done.

     No real politician with any spine would meditate on a decision, affix their signature and then backpedal just because a letter to party members got out.

     I suspect either Pringle (really Gisele) pressure or promises or both… or a buy out.

     Yes its true that ALP conventions especially Gaston v Lester have had worse situations that was has happened so far. Made for very interesting listening on ZDK those days. But people hold UPP to a higher standard so this looks even more pathetic on Bowen’s part than is actually is, to your average man on the street.

     I’ll give Johnathan some sympathy for folding to the UPPs true leader who runs everything from the shadows. Doesn’t seem like the most strong willed fella tbh.

6. Those spineless UPP laggards were shaking Pringles hand while driving the knife in his back. Now that their traitorous actions were made public, those spineless cowards want to kick Richard again in his arse. Those folks didn’t want you as Leader a month ago and all of a sudden they want to eat your blue chicken? Don’t trust them at all. Until the votes are counted, I wouldn’t believe anything coming from their lying evil lips. Richard the handwriting is on the wall, you are in a party of haters, people who smile in your face and double cross you behind your back.
   They would rather an uneducated embarrassing loser like Pringle for leader than you.
   That speaks volumes.

7. As an attorney of law, and a person who has gone through the unthinkable; and faced a most challenging period in his life.

   One would have thought he has reflected on the depths to which he was taken and what he has endured; the lessons learned. Be thorough and thoughtful in each and every of his actions.

   I wish I did not have to think or write this. What Mr. Bowen has done will setback the UPP and the Country. A very sad day.

12. All of you political ignoramus need to shut you all damn mouth about doing this inhouse, and doing that behind close doors. You all getting on my last nerve. You hear somebody say something and you start to parrot it just to be relevant.
    Where you ever hear about any political system where two or more persons vying for the leadership and the war, yes it is a war, is done with the curtains drawn and everybody speaking in hushed voices.

    The difference is now Lewis is wiser and ready for her. Last time they had him swearing to not say anything to ‘mash up the party’ while they were breaking up all the furniture.

    One last thing, if Baldwin does not come out and endorse Richard Lewis and like right now, then it would confirm the rumors that he does not want him to replace him. He thinks he must be the only good thing to come out of Grays Farm. That is very low.

15. This is still democracy in play. Every time there has been a change or challenge for leadership there these things always happens. It happened in the IS congress over and over.
    When there was a leadership opening at the end of VC Bird Political career there was a nasty fight between ST. Luis and Lester. The St.Louis fractions down to have a sticker on their vechicle saying- No Drug dealer for Leader. Lester snd Gastón was also nasty. There was a story of a brown paper going around.
    Same when Joan and Harold – UPP had a big split .
