A woman from Bolans is appealing to immigration authorities to reconsider the deportation of her children’s father, saying the decision has had a serious impact on their young family.
Amani Daniel Winspear said her children’s father, 36-year-old Jamaican national Marcel Parker, was deported several days ago after overstaying his time in the country.
Mr Parker has five criminal offences on record, including three related to cannabis, one involving ammunition and another linked to a firearm.
Ms Winspear said she was not seeking to excuse his past actions but believes the authorities failed to adequately consider the welfare of their two children, aged nine and five.
She said Mr Parker had maintained a close relationship with the children and had been providing financial support, despite the family experiencing difficulties in the past.
Ms Winspear added that he also has an active court matter related to child maintenance.
“I am appealing to the relevant authorities for him to be given a second chance, for the sake of the children he has here,” she said.
She explained that in recent years Mr Parker had made efforts to turn his life around, maintain stability and become more involved in his children’s lives.
Ms Winspear said she is concerned about his ability to support the children from Jamaica, citing ongoing economic challenges and the impact of a recent major hurricane, which she said had left some communities without electricity and running water.
She questioned how her family would continue to receive financial support, given the difficult conditions he now faces.
Ms Winspear is now urging the authorities to allow Mr Parker the opportunity to return legally so he can continue supporting his children both emotionally and financially.

He was providing financial support to your family but you took him to court for child maintenance. Make it make sense
Ms. WINSPEAR sounds like she needs to be deported too
Why she nah move to Jamaica then?? One big happy family yardie style. Hole heep a hacky and salt fish fee days
Where is her MP SHUGY SIMON aka WINKKUP PASTOR to advocate for her? He needs to support her like he did for his sister’s “marriage” 😆 🤣 😂
“I am appealing to the relevant authorities for him to be given a second chance, for the sake of the children he has here,” she said.
The answer to that should and WILL be a resounding “NO!” He got his chance and he did not use his chance well. According to the report, “Mr Parker has five criminal offences on record, including three related to cannabis, one involving ammunition and another linked to a firearm.”
Obviously, this man was into a life of crime and is therefore not wanted, needed, nor welcome here. Charges related to arms and ammunition are serious charges and he deserved to be removed from the country, without the possibility of returning.

HE, not the court and immigration authorities, should have thought about this BEFORE choosing a life of crime. Her request should not be entertained; let him support them from Jamaica as allowing him to return would likely give him an opportunity to go right back into the criminal enterprise that got him removed in the first place.
Choices have consequences!
I’m sorry to hear dear but I think this move was made in the best interests of the nation rather one’s family. The era we’re living in today makes having a criminal offense, automatically gets you deported especially if ur a repeat offender and non national..
Hold it strong sister, you’ll pull through
Y porque lo deportaron?
Definitely!!
Wait. The woman crazy or what? The man is a criminal. What you wanted us to do? Im sure he will and can find a way to feed his children
Nancy Tory dat!
I know this young lady and she is a very nice and jovial person. They should deport the hype fathers in the street that are working and still not taking care of their kids..the same ones who used women to come here to kotch.
And she want him back to teach the children to be a criminal? And she may be deceased then since this Jamaican had a gun. In the he virgin islands that Jamaican could have even built a house, they will deport him leave the property and someone could adopt the children.
It’s our foolie Antiguans that break the law to suit these foreigners why Antiguans is not respected by the politicians or foreigners living among us.
He should have considered before living that life .. I have children and I alway think before acting… lady from Bolans, you should have think before having children with a gangster.. anyway you can always go and join him there …
I really feel sorry for the children as they are forced to live without the presence of their father in these difficult times. But clearly he didn’t take them and their situation into consideration. When you are living at pleasure in another man’s country and serving at their goodwill and generosity, you simply cannot afford to be involved in illegal activities like guns, ammunition and marijauna happenings. Overstaying is bad enough but the other charges are just downright silly and foolish. Respect the laws of the country or be removed….SIMPLE. I feel for the kids but the authorities had very little choice but to pack your bags and ship you out.
Miss Winspear sounds as though she and the children might have to blow themselves back to Jamaica. People come here break the law then want special treatment. Election soon come, maybe the WINDBAG DWAYNE can help you, that’s how they win elections around here. Shameless Bunch
Make all of this make sense to me. You should be considered for deportation as well
She joking right?
She joking?
Lady your situation cannot be easy but wrong is wrong. These Jamaicans come to our small islands and cant behave
Your children mouth split food must come in
Wrong a wrong what message we sending even though you commit a criminal offense once you have children we will not deport you gwarn go a social transformation for assistance sorry if I sound harsh
Give him a chance to correct himself
Thank God immigration get him out. He was here and not feeding his children. She had to take him to court for child maintenance . Good redance to bad rubbish. All she want is the maintenance money from. The court. This man is considered as a rouge and a vagabond. Cannabis, firearms and ammunition. He should be declared Persona None Grata never to return. The only solution to that is send him his, children or she return home with her children. When they become of age they will return to the land of their birth. Never, never nevershould he return to Antigua. If he return, his next crime he will committed is murder. This woman is heartless.
Mom, your children can visit their father in Jamaica. We have flights going back and forth. What is wrong with people’s mentally these days
The deportation of Marcel Parker should remain permanent. This decision was not made lightly, nor was it based solely on an immigration technicality. Mr. Parker has five criminal offences on record, including drug-related charges, ammunition possession, and a firearm-related offence. Such conduct is reckless, unlawful, and poses a clear risk to public safety.
Claims that he was a responsible father are difficult to accept. If he was providing consistent and adequate support, why is there an active court matter for child maintenance? Court-ordered support exists because responsibility was not being met voluntarily. Criminal behavior, immigration violations, and instability do not reflect the actions of a credible or responsible parent, nor do they set a positive example for children.
Antigua and Barbuda cannot be treated as a safe haven for individuals with criminal histories simply because they have children here. The law must be applied consistently to protect the wider society. Emotional appeals cannot override national security, public safety, and respect for immigration laws.
If family unity is truly the priority, the mother is free to join him in Jamaica. Deportation does not prevent him from supporting his children from abroad, as many parents lawfully do. Upholding this deportation sends a clear and necessary message: criminal behavior and immigration violations will not be excused under the guise of parenthood.
Additionally, it’s hoped that immigration officers would embarked on a more radical approach and apprehend all overstayed individuals and deport them. Undoubtedly, Antigua and Barbuda would see a rapid decreased of criminal activities: The major overstayed people are the Latinos ( let’s not forget the murder of Chantel), Jamacia, Guyanese and the Nigerians ( let’s not forget Olabanjo’s and his ‘tight’ friend the PM migrants scandal). These community of people do not add value to our country. All Antiguans should stopped renting accommodation to them.
My mother brought up 10 of us single handedly when her husband went abroad and abandoned us.
We are became college graduates somecattending profesdional school except one.
Lady: be a good citizen; join a church or affiliate with the upstanding members of the community.
Your tone is of both entitlement and lack of respect for the laws.
It makes it difficult to be sympathetic and compassionate to your cause.
You are displaying nothing but callousness and entitlement.
Sorry! but he should think about his children first, before going and commiting crimes in our country.
There is lots of in Jamaica right now.
The rebuilding requires manpower.
He will find work
If we allow him reentry we may find you dead like the woman at Cashew Hill, Althea.
You are confessing that what he is doing may not be legal however you want him back.
Is that the love you have for this country?
Your eyeware doesn’t look like it was prescribed.
That’s why you are probably seeing blurred.
Go back to the eye specialist
Antigua is better off without the likes of him
If he comes back we may find dead people.
Your children or your son wont die. Sometimes some fathers are bigger kept away from their sons
Miss did you tell the police that he had a gun and ammunition?
Is was a small part of Jamaica that was damaged.
He can work and support his children from there just like when Antiguans go to the US.
Immigration did you a favor. What kind of values he was imparting to the children? The weed and criminal culture?
First of all why is he here for soooo long n have no Status here n how can u ask to give him a chance wen he have so many chances 5 or more by now that we might not know
The time his muda min tek a cuss ppl wen he young she should a look bout he papers
Aryou just gimme one break see!!!! Dis gyal haffu crazy.
You pickney ah dem cyarn hungry inna Antigua and Gaston ah run dis yah country. Jus mek de idiot boy gwarn go bout e business. You might ah thank Gid he get deported…wha you think Antigua name rescue the perishing? Ah wha yah!!!!!???
Hmmmmm no comment although I know that’s a comment
These comments are very savage. She just wants her child support money. Ain’t nothing wrong with that.
Sorry! but he should think about his children first, before going and commiting crimes in our country. He can support his children from Jamaica too, just like I am doing, supporting mines from Canada.
Cases like this expose the tension between policy enforcement and compassion. This is heartbreaking. On one hand, the law is the law, rules exist for a reason, and ignoring them can set dangerous precedents. On the other hand, you can’t help but feel for the kids caught in the middle. They didn’t break any rules, and now their lives are turned upside down because of something beyond their control.
Why she and children didn’t go with him to his country? In some countries, they would deport the entire so that the family would not be separated.
She and the children can go joined him in Jamaica 🇯🇲. She should have married the man so he could be legal in Antigua. Plenty construction jobs available now in Jamaica—people and businesses are rebuilding from the hurricane damaged.
@ Myra
Why don’t you help support dem. You sound like a dam idiot. If he so lub dem send money from Jamaica, a people laka you and Windspear mek Antigua tun so dutty and lawless
