Police have confirmed that the partially decomposed body discovered inside a vehicle at the Old Ottos School compound on 2 February has been identified as Peter Thompson.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Assistant Commissioner of Police Lisbon Michael, made the confirmation during a press conference on Tuesday.
Mr Michael said investigators are treating the case as a suspected homicide while awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination.
“We are now looking at a date for the post-mortem. At this time we are investigating along the lines of a homicide, but once the post-mortem is completed we will make a final determination regarding the cause of death,” he said.
The body was found inside a vehicle on the compound of the former Old Ottos School, which is currently used as a panyard.
Police said the discovery was first reported through the 911 emergency hotline. Officers responded to the scene and secured the area while investigators processed the site.
Authorities have not disclosed where inside the vehicle – described as a jeep – the body was located.
The investigation is continuing as police await forensic results to determine the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s death.

Oh dear! So sorry to hear.
HMMMM I dont recall hearing that name as a missing person. So where is the rest of the info like his age and place of abode? They cannot reveal that either?
Mr. Police of Commissioner, you gave us a name (that’s good) without any picture (that’s unprofessional). A picture would tells a 1000 words. You always wants the public to assist in solving crime and still you’re hiding the vital information, the picture. Once people see his picture, information will start flowing in to you about the dead man. You know that you can’t solve any crime without the public assistance. Wake-up Mr Commissioner, this the twenty-first century. Reporters, you need to ask the hard questions in these press conferences.
@Juju bee I here wondering the same thing
