Bishop Browne Reappointed as Head of Prison Visiting Committee

Bishop Charlesworth Browne has been reappointed chairman of the Prison Visiting Committee during a ceremony at Government House.

Deputy to the Governor General, Sir Clare Roberts, urged the committee to focus more on rehabilitation and reintegration, stressing the importance of empathy and sound judgment.

Victoria Dyer was named secretary, with Jacqueline Carter, Regina James, Ragji Burton, Margaret Rose, DeSilva Myers, and Phoebe Joseph also appointed to the committee.

  1. I believe the visiting committee with greater emphasis can do alot more than it’s doing but then again the prisoners will have to be more corporative

  2. Rehabilitation and reintegration should always be the focus. Glad to hear Sir Clare emphasizing this important mission.
