Barrel of drugs found at Deep Water Harbour

On Friday 28thSeptember, 2018, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) conducted an operation at the Deep Water Harbor cargo port where a search led to the discovery of a barrel containing compressed cannabis.

The cannabis was concealed in several household items to include bed quilts, a microwave and diapers wipes. The barrel is said to have originated from the USA.

The cannabis totaled a combined weight of 39.60lbswhich carries an estimated wholesale value of One Hundred Fifty-Eight Thousand, Four Hundred EC Dollars (XCD$158, 400.00). No arrests have been made thus far in connection to the seizure and investigations are ongoing.
