Barbuda is set to receive six cruise ship calls this month as part of efforts to integrate the island into the cruise tourism sector.
The first vessel arrived earlier this week, with five more scheduled, including the Emerald Azzurra and Star Flyer docking this Sunday. The Emerald Azzurra, homeporting in St. John’s for the season, will arrive Friday night and remain until departing for Barbuda.
Star Flyer will make a second visit on February 23, while Le Ponant, which called earlier this week, returns on February 13 and 25.
Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez noted that these smaller cruise ships attract high-end visitors, reflecting Barbuda’s growing appeal in the market.
