Barbuda MP Trevor Walker Sets Bold Vision for 2025 in New Year’s Message

Barbuda’s Member of Parliament, Trevor M. Walker, has outlined an ambitious roadmap for the island in his New Year’s message, reflecting on past challenges while charting a course for 2025.

Addressing Barbudans both at home and abroad, Mr. Walker expressed gratitude for their unwavering support and resilience in the face of ongoing difficulties.

In his statement, Mr. Walker highlighted the struggles faced in 2024, citing limited support from the central government.

He described a year marked by persistent challenges, including the need to defend land and environmental rights, as well as inadequate attention to infrastructure and essential services. Despite these obstacles, he affirmed his commitment to advancing the well-being of Barbudans.

Looking ahead, Mr. Walker outlined key priorities for the Barbuda Council in 2025, including the continuation of road infrastructure improvements, financial support for students pursuing higher education, and upgrades to the island’s sole health facility.

Reflecting on the community’s resilience, Mr. Walker praised the spirit of Barbudans, drawing inspiration from the annual “Barbudian Daze” event held on New Year’s Day. He described how the gathering brought together generations, with elders and youth sharing in the joy of traditional toys and games, underscoring the island’s enduring culture of resourcefulness and solidarity.

Mr. Walker called on residents to embrace the values of teamwork, perseverance, and community building, which he said are integral to Barbuda’s identity.

He pledged to enhance his engagement with the community and prioritize visible improvements in the coming year, emphasizing that Barbuda would prevail through collective strength and determination.

Concluding his message, Mr. Walker expressed hope for a prosperous 2025 filled with new opportunities. On behalf of the Barbuda Council, he extended warm wishes for an abundant and joyous New Year.

  2. this BROWN PAPERBAG Jim Jones sat in the Cabinet of the WICKED SUNSHINE GOVERNMENT and didn’t do shit for Barbuda or Barbudans!!!! All of a sudden where he get “vision” from??? He have his nice houe and land in ROYAL GARDENS, ANTIGUA and is the LONE GAS STATION OWNER in Barbuda. What “vision” he suddenly got overnight? This useless clown claimed to have forgotten his notes at home during the budget debate. Purposely stymied, blocked, undermined and opposed every single project the government brought to Barbuda.

A real PIE ASS. A real “BORN RACIST” Jim Jones cult daddy

  3. On the eve of the Privy Council ruling Trveor went on the Disturber AM saying the judge was eager to give his verdict as it was something in the prime interest of the Barbuda people. Trevor thought it meant victory was in his favor. CAN ANYONE RECALL WHAT THE JUDGE CONCLUDED?

  4. It is a good thing we have learned through the budget speech that the Prime Minister delivered that the government will spend ten million dollars on roads in Barbuda, which will be financed by PLH.
So now Trevor can now take it and make it his own.
And perhaps he now wants to make Barbuda into an economic power house too. Given the billionaires that are now landing there, thanks to the new airport.
