Barbuda Launches Six-Day World AIDS Day Programme on Saturday
Barbuda will host six days of activities beginning Saturday as the National AIDS Programme and the AIDS Secretariat move to the sister island for the Barbuda leg of World AIDS Day observances.
The schedule opens with a church service at the Barbuda Seventh-day Adventist Church and includes teen discussions, community outreach, nightly health sessions and daily HIV testing at the Public Health Building. Events run through December 13, ending with an open-day fair at Madison Square.
Officials say the visit aims to increase access to testing and information as part of this year’s theme, “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response in Antigua and Barbuda.”
