Barbados records 7 COVID-19 deaths

Seven Barbadians, five men and two women, have lost their battle with COVID-19.

The deaths occurred over a three-day period.  On Thursday, October 14, a 59-year-old man died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Accident & Emergency Department.

Four of the deaths happened on Friday, October 15.  A 50-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man both passed away at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility.  A 93-year-old man died at the Blackman and Gollop Isolation Facility, and an 87-year-old woman succumbed to the virus while at the Queen’s College Isolation Facility.

Additionally, two people died today, Saturday, October 16.  A woman, 66 years old, and a man, aged 70, passed away from the viral illness this morning at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility.  All of the deceased were unvaccinated.

The deaths from COVID-19 have now reached 116.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic, has extended condolences to their family and friends.
