Bandits shoot up empty bed in Pigotts home; robbery victim shot in the mouth in Browne’s Avenue

The Police continue to probe two shooting incidents: one in Pigotts Village that occurred early Saturday morning, November 25, and the other, occurring hours later, in which a man was shot and remains hospitalized.

Ironically, reports say the intended target in the first shooting was not at home at the time of the incident.
Allegedly, he had left for work minutes before the offense took place at about 5:30 a.m.

A source tells REAL News that two masked men broke into the home through the front door. Allegedly, having done so, they fired at least seven shots at the bed in which the intended victim sleeps.

Meanwhile, a man is still nursing gunshot injuries after being shot in the mouth.

Allegedly, he was attacked and shot by two assailants on Friday night, November 24, at about 8:30 p.m., when bandits tried to rob him in the Browne’s Avenue area.

Reports say the alleged robbers escaped on foot while the victim had to be rushed to hospital.

The Police are now appealing to anyone with information that could assist in solving both crimes to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913 or Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

  1. Everybody should install cameras in their homes and for those who cannot afford to do so, can the government make it possible for them to get cameras at a reduced rate? Enquiring minds would like to know.
I’m encouraging persons who can afford alarm systems to do so as well. Too much evil in the land.
    Help us Lord.

    • @Enquiring Mind, installing security cameras, on your private property, is a good idea. One of the major problems is the duty Customs charged us to cleared these cameras. So getting the camera is not a problem, is the Custom Duty is the problem.

    • @ Curil

The Bible states that ‘crime increases when criminals are in power’, I guess as far as the ABLP are concerned the UPP is in power!!!

      Bunch of criminals.

  2. Deport all Jamaicans and Spanish and you go see how these numbers drop. Seems very coincidental that there has a big influx of them recently to grab cash and take it back to spend abroad.

    • @Rita, @Leave Antigua Alone said if you deport two nationalities, the crime number will drop. The he/she never said that crime would disappear altogether. Antigua always had a crime on a small scale back then. Right now, Antigua is much more diverse with people from different countries, with different cultures and behaviours. Once that large diversity is here, you will see an increase in crimes. And too time is changing.

  3. Saying, the incident took place in Pigotts. However, the commissioner of police seems more interested with laws to preven people from smoking in public than, getting help to fight crime. It’s getting to a height now and, a lot of those criminals I believe, are non nationals

  4. Guys with license guns, make an example when it hits your door step. Clamp down harder on the penalty when found guilty of these crimes. Bring back in hanging and see what happens. This will not stop until something serious happens until the public reacts.

  5. Hey, am Spanish,I don’t understand why did u express like this.most of us, just want to work and live decently
