Two men accused of involvement in a violent confrontation at Sanderson Estate earlier this month have been released on bail pending further court proceedings.

The defendants — Brian Benjamin, 59, of All Saints, and Bryan Benjamin, 32, of Swetes — appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, who set the next hearing for December 4, 2025.

The charges stem from an October 1 altercation on a farm that left two men nursing gunshot wounds. Both Benjamins are jointly accused of assault, wounding, and battery against Jace Farrell. In addition, Brian Benjamin is charged with shooting with intent to murder Simon Farrell, while Bryan Benjamin faces a separate count of using threatening language.

Police said the injured men remain hospitalized in stable condition. Investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have appealed to the public to settle disputes through lawful and non-violent means.

  1. Your article is confusing. So Brian Senior is the father of Brian Jr. you need to make a distinction which of the Brian’s is charged for attempted murder. Secondly only one person got injected from gun shot and that is Semion Farrell- the father of Jace Farrell. Both Semion Farrell and Brian Benjamin senior are first cousins. Jace Farrell and Brian Benjamin both went to the hospital and were treated and discharged for injuries they sustained during the incident.

  2. Frankly speaking, if you look carefully, you will notice that the two first name ate spelt differently. The article is well written, your eyes are fooling you!
