Source Real News Antigua: A patron of a nightclub in St. John’s was taken into custody to assist the Police with investigations, after someone attempted to discard a
quantity of marijuana by throwing it from the club.
Based on information the Police had received, a sergeant and a corporal went on duty at Jam Dung Nightclub, located on Nevis Street, at about 1:30 a.m. on March 10.
Reportedly, as the senior officer was entering the building, a black shopping bag was thrown from the nightclub, landing at the back of a motor pickup parked on the street.
The officers searched the bag and found several transparent plastic bags with what appeared to be compressed cannabis, along with a powdery substance suspected to be cocaine and crack cocaine.
Subsequently, a search was carried out in the area and a Hatton man was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs.
The bag with the drugs and the suspect were taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) pending further investigation.
