Bacchanal Carnival Responds After Truck Malfunction Injures Revellers

1

To all my incredible supporters, revellers, and fans:

Monday Mas 2025 was meant to be a day of pure vibes, celebrating the fusion of Antigua and Dominican music. Sadly, due to a mechanical failure of our music truck on Queen Elizabeth Hwy., a few revellers were injured. The parade had to be stopped so emergency services could respond. Thankfully, while 3 injuries were serious, there were no fatalities. All persons have been discharged, and are now recovering. My heart is with them, and they have my full support.
We did everything we could to resume the experience and eventually made it to YASCO, where Kaution Band and Signal Band helped us close the night on a positive note. To those who stayed with us, thank you! Your energy meant everything.
We understand the frustration of our paying revellers who expected more. We’re truly sorry as this wasn’t the experience we worked so hard to create. Still, the love and support shown to me and my team has been overwhelming, and we are grateful.
Safety is one of our top priorities, and we are devastated that this happened despite all our planning and precautions. As far as we are aware, all trucks to our knowledge and belief were checked and cleared for safety and security before going on the road.

We await a full investigation by the Police and Carnival committee before commenting further.

As part of our original Carnival plans, all Bacchanal Carnival package holders are invited to join us this Friday, August 8, at Creek City from 8 PM. Entry is free, and we hope we can come together to celebrate life and the true spirit of Bacchanal Carnival.
Let us continue to support those who were injured, and let’s close this season united as one.
Thank you again for your love, your patience, and understanding. We appreciate you all.

From Iaisha and the team at Bacchanal Carnival.

  1. I have already written about the lack of safety checks at Carnival City and it is becoming more and more obvious that the Police, Transport Board, Nods and the Fire Service have all been asleep on the job. They have treated safety as a joke. This is no longer a little carnival. This is thousands of people, most of them overloaded with alcohol, big trucks, no behavior as carnival means no laws. We were lucky this time. I hope from here on, these organisations will begin to do their job and stand up to politicians who say to lay back and take it easy as the people love it so.
