Authorities Arrest Returning Resident in Airport Drug Seizure

A 40-year-old Antiguan man was arrested Friday at V.C. Bird International Airport after officers allegedly found cannabis in his suitcase during a joint drug interdiction operation.

Police say the returning resident, who arrived on United Airlines flight UA2020 around 3:30 p.m., was stopped by members of the Narcotics Department, K9 Unit and Customs Enforcement Unit.

A search of his Nautica suitcase reportedly uncovered two transparent tubes containing about 22 grams of suspected cannabis, valued at roughly EC$291.

He was taken to Police Headquarters along with the seized items as investigations continue. Authorities say similar operations remain ongoing as part of efforts to curb drug trafficking.

  1. Lol. You just have to laugh. 22 Grams, really?

the man obviously wanted to smoke his own brand of weed, instead of the trash that’s circulating the streets of Antigua. 😂.

Big big buss at the airport..yeah right.. 😂
