Local author William Henry will launch his new book, Antigua: A Glimpse into the Past, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the National Public Library of Antigua and Barbuda.
The event is not only a literary milestone but also a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting the Library’s After-School Enrichment Programme, which provides academic assistance and structured activities for young people.
Henry has invited Antigua Newsroom to partner in the launch and assist with covering or broadcasting the event to help raise awareness and encourage national support for the initiative.
In his invitation, Henry said the launch “goes beyond celebrating literature” and is intended to give back to the community through education-focused support.
“As one of Antigua’s established writers, I believe strongly in using my work to give back to our community,” Henry wrote, adding that media involvement would help broaden the reach of the fundraising effort.
The author expressed appreciation for the role media platforms play in promoting local culture and education, noting that their involvement would make a meaningful difference in advancing the programme’s goals.
The After-School Enrichment Programme at the National Public Library offers students additional academic support and constructive engagement outside regular school hours.
