Antiguan attorney Kenny Kentish has been elevated to the rank of King’s Counsel (KC), a designation that recognises senior lawyers for excellence in advocacy and contributions to the legal profession.
Kentish is a partner and senior attorney at Lake Kentish & Bennett, one of Antigua and Barbuda’s leading law firms. With over 20 years of experience, he has built a distinguished career specialising in commercial and employment law, as well as civil, criminal, and constitutional litigation. He has represented clients at all levels of court, including the Privy Council, and is admitted to the bar in five Caribbean jurisdictions.
A graduate of The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Kentish has been recognised for his commitment to upholding the rule of law, defending the rights of his clients, and maintaining high ethical and professional standards. He is also dedicated to mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the development of the legal sector in the region.
The United Progressive Party (UPP), in a statement led by political leader Jamale Pringle, congratulated Kentish on his elevation, describing it as a reflection of his dedication and achievements. The party expressed confidence that he would continue to make Antigua and Barbuda proud.
Kentish joins a select group of senior attorneys in Antigua and Barbuda who have received the King’s Counsel designation, a title historically awarded to lawyers demonstrating outstanding ability and service to the legal profession.

Hope this elevation comes with a commitment to fairness and integrity.
Long as he don’t do like Justin “Loser Lawyer” Simon, he should be fine. Justin flew alllll the way to England only to be told that:
“…the claimants have NO REALISTIC PROSPECT OF SUCCEEDING in their claim under section 9(1) of the CONSTITUTION!!!
“The Court found that the Appellants did NOT have a PERSONAL RIGHT of property in the leased land. Rather, the Land Act provided a SCHEME for the collective rights of Barbudan people as a class”
Hope he uses this position to advocate for real justice.
More young lawyers should be inspired by this accomplishment.
The legal profession in Antigua just got stronger!
Congratulations to Kenny Kentish
wishing him continued success.
Congratulations are in order to your elevation to the Inner Bar. Well deserved.
Just imagine you work hard go to university and become A class at your game and your academic achievement have to get validation by your former colonial murderers, so you have to take a pat on the back as their pet and been called some kings council, a pedophile name is tagged to your good name, if you were to be validated by el Chapo the drug lord would you be please for such association ? And this colonial slave master tag to your name gives you seniority in the court to have your cases expedited in court, so that equates to the royal family as they call themselves interfering with the judiciary. No wonder the black politicians from Caribbean to Africa who are supervised by the commonwealth system that corrupt our politicians.
