Asot Michael responds to a letter banning him from ABLP Executive Meeting

MP Asot Michael feelings about the letter from Mary Clair Hurst

I am very disappointed and truly Hurt that a Comrade would place her signature to such writings.

As the Elected candidate for St.Peter I am entitled as of right to attend the Central Executive wherever and whenever it meets.

I have an obligation and responsibility to represent and advocate for the interest of that Constituency.

There is no provision that allows the General Secretary or any other member to exclude me from such meetings as they have done.

As Comrades we will have disagreements within the organisation.

In deed, different point of views allows for the Organisation to grow and develop new ideas and positions, but we must at all time adhere to the frame work set out in the constitution. It is an Organisation not a dictatorship.

What Will You do

I am not sure, I know I have legal rights which have been breached, I have an injunction which prohibits exactly what they have done and continue to do. I

have the option of contempt proceedings, or a new legal action maybe, I am not sure. During the course of this coming week I will seek legal and political counsel form lawyers and constituents and stalwarts of the party and then a make a decision.

I am in no hurry to make a decision I want to add water to this fire not gasoline.

I cannot expect statesman like behavior from the leaders of the Party and myself not handle the matter in a statesman like way.

Are these Litigation Matters Injuring the Party

Litigation matters can never injure the Party. It is the unlawful actions of Party Heads that is injurious to the Party.

This together with the tolerance of pretty members to such behavior.

It is the litigation that holds the offending Party members accountable and forces them to adhere to democratic principals and principals of Natural Justice.

Each person has the obligation to hold his neighbor accountable and I have the obligation to ensure that my party adheres to these well established principals in a civilized and democratic society.

Are you the Candidate for St. Peters

In accordance with the Constitution of the Party I am. There is no doubt. It is also clear that there is an intention to push the constitution aside and do as One Person desires. I will fight to ensure that all are accountable.

Will you Run as an Independent

I love Politics and I love the people of St. Peter who have been loyal and Good to me over the years.

I also love my Political Family the ABLP, I can not now readily contemplated not being a member of that family.

I have always had a family life growing up so I know the meaning of family and comradeship.

Let us not even talk about leaving Family at this time. At this time let us concentrate on fixing what is broken.

  1. Did not realize Asot Michael now lives at Grays Hill. Tanny Rose,a you he lives with at Habor Heights? LOL

    • Just the other day he was the best person on the globe ; he’s speaking out now and all of a sudden he is an outcast. You people are nothing short of being mercenaries and foot soldiers. You trail the dollar.

    • ABLP rolled in Asot’s dough for years and helped Gaston force out Lester Bird. Asot is now free to spread the dough. What’s the problem?

    • Mongrels like you give Antigua a bad name. Sticky fingers always get stuck and can’t move in time. Remember! Time longer than rope!

  2. Asot might have a point in this matter. He says that as the representative of a constituency he has an ex officio right to attend meetings of the party executive. I do not know if that is borne out by the Constitution. My point however is this, Maryclare Hurst no where in her letter to Asot cited any rule from the Party’s Constitution or otherwise which provided the authority for Asot to be banned from meetings of the Executive. I need to see the authority.

  3. Asot is representing the spirit of True Labour perhaps he should find a new family. The ABLP has moved away from the ideals it was built upon. This is a serious problem for the country.

It’s no longer a LABOR party it is a MONEY and REAL ESTATE party. That is all they seem to be concerned with for the last eight years.

  4. Creeping dictatorship. Gaston has to control everyone in his party, even selecting who runs in the constituency. If he thinks Asot is so bad, have the executive in the constituency vote for who they want to represent the constituency. If Asot wins, so be it and you can retire as you say you will not have him in any Party you head. You are going to have a poll. Only foolish people in that constituency would let you get away with this. But then you know your people.

  5. Now-a-days, as I think about gaston, my mind run to King Saul.

King Saul was courageous in battle. He was a generous king. EARLY IN HIS REIGN he was admired and respected by the people. Later in his reign, it was a different thing.

In my opinion, gaston time have run out. He has done ‘some good’ but those good are being erased now.

Time for him to be voted out of government.

  6. You guys are so pathetic. Can’t be the same politician that you’ll wanted to jailed cause he is the most corrupt. Jah you guys no have decency and lacks credibility.
