Water disruptions expected during APUA maintenance

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has warned of temporary water disruptions in several communities as maintenance is carried out at the Crabbs Reverse Osmosis Plant.

The APUA Water Business Unit said work on the plant’s storage tank will take place on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. and is expected to last about 10 hours, ending around 6:00 p.m.

Customers may experience short interruptions, reduced water pressure or shorter distribution periods during the maintenance. The network is expected to resume operations from early Wednesday morning, although residents in higher elevations may face delays as the system recharges.

Communities likely to be affected include Weirs, North Sound, Gunthorpes, Fitches Creek, Pigotts, Paynters, Lightfoot, Herberts, Sea View Farm, Potters, Parham, Pares, All Saints, Freemans Village, Clare Hall, Cassada Gardens, parts of Old Parham Road, Sir Sydney Walling Highway and Friars Hill Road, among others.

APUA has apologised for the inconvenience and urged customers to make preparations in advance. Further information is available from the APUA Support Centre on 211.
