The Antigua Public Utilities Authority says the Water Business Unit is aware of the prolonged water suppression in some communities over the past few days.
This suppression was due to the ongoing mainline installation on the Sir George Walter
Highway. An unexpected issue forced an emergency stoppage of water channelled to our
storage facilities that impaired our ability to distribute water to some communities.
APUA sincerely apologizes and regret any inconvenience caused to our customers for the lack of service.
Regular distribution and replenishing of our storage facilities have commenced and affected
customers can now expect to receive water. We are also pleased to provide an update on our progress at this stage on the road works project. We have completed the installation of a 14″ high-density polyethylene (HDPE) on the Sir George Walter Highway. This material is assured to be more durable and has a life span of 50 years.
Customers are invited to contact us at 211 to report any challenges in their water supply or
service.

Public Relation 101. Don’t wait until you have complaints from your customers to say something. Do it immediately you are aware that you have a problem. You are not dealing with ANIMALS. You are dealing with HUMANS.
Someone in APUA needs to get fired so they understand the importance of COMMUNICATING to the PUBLIC Each and Every Time there is an issue.
I’m Tired of mediocre service.

Yes because then you are on the defensive. Give persons to option of at least mentally preparing
PPM – Piss Poor Management is at the heart of this dilema at APUA, and it didn’t begin with this crisis.
It should be enshrined, in the Constitution, that ALL of Governments Ministries are audited forensically, every three(3) years, by INDEPENDENT auditing firms, preferably, through the Commonwealth Secretariat, and let the chips fall where they may, and not on a casino’s gambling table, where it seems like many of past loans to the Nation end up.
Is It A Fact, that the present PPM – Piss Poor Management, plaguing several Government Ministries, and their departments are, as a direct result, of the learned behavior, of ass kissing which tends to provide upward mobility, in the Government Departments? Enquiring minds would sure like to know!
Am joining you From The Sideline!!!
Scott’s Hill No Water In almost 2 weeks. Please assist
come better than that apua Barnes hill no water we going on week 3
Affected customers can now expect to receive water when?? 😳
I think most ppl, even though they hate the inconvenience, can accept that it will not always be smooth sailing. From time to time there will be interruptions. But great senses, at least come out and say something nuh. APUA operates as if they’re doing us a favour. They seem to forget that we pay some of the highest utility rates in the region. Today (Saturday) is my 5th consecutive day without water (with a toddler in the house) SMDH
APUA,THE WATER ISSUES HAVE BEEN THERE LONG,LONG,GARLING TIME.BEFORE THE WORKS BEING DONE ON THE SIR GEORGE WALTER HIGHWAY.WHAT YOUR TELLING US THE PAYING CUSTOMERS NOW IS BULL DUNG.YOU HAVE TOO MANY INEPT PERSONS IN KEY MANAGEMENT POSITIONS WITHIN THAT ESTABLISHMENT.RESHUFFLE THE PACK,GET SOME ACES, KINGS,QUEENS AND LET GO THE SQUARE PEGS.
‘ is for feet and ” is for inches.
Weeks now me a get water for 1hour max, then y’all say practice good hygiene. Chupz
Another thing that APUA needs to understand. The government has been promoting backyard gardening. So far the ministery said they have been given out 50K seedlings. I guess the people who now have those seedlings will now use up more water then they previously did. Let me tell you plants need lots and lots of water. Ask the farmers. And the cost of those seedlings is in the thousands of dollars for sure. If lets say more then half of these seedlings die because people are not able to watet their plants, that program is doomed to be a failure. What APUA should be doing is hiring water trucks and bring water to people where they aren’t able to go for whatever reason. Just make sure people have some sort of catchment to store water and start bringing water to the people even if it is once in every two weeks or soo. There should be ways to offset the extra cost of the trucking. I for one would be interested to pay some of the trucking fees. The water is already produced so the cost of the driving should be the only thing to consider. And if truck drivers and trucking companies are unreasonable in their pricing consider investment in some trucks for moments such as this. Remember The water is already produced and you theefore can charge people a nominal fee for bringing it straught to their house into their tank or cistern bypassing the water meters.
