Appellants Demand Vessel’s Return Following Appeal Hearing

37

Appellants in the Alfa Nero ownership case are fighting to regain control of the vessel.

They assert that the government was aware of its ownership prior to the seizure and auction, making the vessel’s confiscation unlawful.

Dr. Dorsett, representing the appellants, expressed confidence in their case before the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.

They seek an injunction to halt the sale, citing concerns about an expedited and unconstitutional law change that enabled the government’s initial seizure.

The battle for Alfa Nero’s rightful owner continues.

  1. GASTON WILL BE AN OLD OLD MAN BEFORE HE SEE ANY MONEY FROM THE ALFA NERO.
ARE YOU LOVE PEOPLE SUBBEN TOO MUCH.

    • SMOKE SCREEN: …LAWYER DOES NOT WORK FOR GOVERNMENT:… MOUTHPIECE FOR ‘WATT AND ASSOCIATE’

My friend, with all the ‘…Smoke Screen,’ this ‘…Lawyer’ does not Work for the ‘…Government of Antigua and Barbuda.’

This ‘Lawyer’ is an ‘Associate’ of, and worked for the ‘Law Firm- WATT AND ASSOCIATES.’

      The ‘ASSOCIATES;’

      (i) ‘…Sir Gerald Anderson Watt KCN, KC:

(ii) …Pastor, Dr. David Dorsett; and

      (iii) …Jared Hewlett.’

Se what can be gleaned from this.

  2. This ABLP government was totally disingenuous to the owners of the Alpha Nero super yacht vessel to think that they could go ahead and sell something that doesn’t belong to them.

Disingenuous to the concerned citizens of Antigua & Barbuda who forewarned of the legal implications of doing so; and now looks like costing the tax payers dearly, that we can ill afford.

And in addition, playing into the hands of the Russian and USA divide, where Gaston Browne should well keep clear of.

What was needed was dialogue and compromise.

However, Gaston Browne is incapable of this, because he acts with

    • …without council and continually surrounds himself with “Yes men” who just cannot or will not stand up him.

HOW SAD FOR THE COUNTRY TO HAVE A LEADER LIKE THIS …

      • Simple @ LOVE OF COUNTRY … the rightful owner is the ORIGINAL purchaser(s) of the Alpha Nero!!!

Please THINK before you CORRELATE and engage with Brixtonian!!!

Remember, bucket 🪣 wid hole a battam nu have no business a riverside 🌊 …

    • I am not going to have any romanticization of any of any boat and Gaston, but gullible people are forcing me to talk. While it would have been a brave black man to dear touch a white property, which if he could he could a rough up jumbie bay or mill reef white people and PLH
in Barbuda which has decided what they want to do over Barbuda, and infantillised Gaston sending him out like a child to parliament to change laws even though as a child he will get his candy or payment, which no political party dear to change, the apartheid Jim crow system practiced in Antigua and the Caribbean . No boat was ever plan to be sold, it’s a facade to evade the Americans all set up by the Russian oligarchs. And in the end Gaston acting pro-american might get refuge in America if Gaston lose power in Antigua and have to flee to the USA. He is prepared to use our treasury funds in this scheme, he is the first wonder boy that design schemes like nyamco to take our tax dollar Infront of our eyes without we saying anything about it, and it all have to do with the illiteracy of the population, the old people or ourselves is not verse in semantics so anything will pass them because they don’t have any ideological politics only tribal colors of politics, they don’t expect any social economic change, they are satisfied with either seeing their political representative get rich or their pastors. Those older people has purchased their real estate in the sky as the pastor has sold them and the politicians reward them every 5 year in electocracy by giving music and pennies and hope of a white savior come in to make them work, facilitate wealth extraction by white people once more. Look just get the picture I end here.

  3. Bottom line is this …Look at the events from which the vessel was left in Antigua. It was not abandoned Antigua did the bidding of the United States on the assumption that the Russian Oligarch owned it… now that it may have been actually owned by his daughter America and to a greater extent Antigua jumped the gun .when all the legal dust is cleared the woman should come get she boat , make Antigua and the United States work out the responsible party for the cost of maintenance, storage , fuel and wages ..PERIOD END OF STORY ..AYO TOO FAST !

    • So because she say she own it and Dorsett say what he gets paid to say, it automatically becomes facts. Have you read the article done by a British group on this issue and if she has any legal rights to this vessel?
Do your OWN research before adding your voice to issues you least know facts about!
      Check your “bottom line”

  4. My advice is to purposely loose the appeal case and let her have her vessel. Prepare a cost thus far for maintenance and upkeep and seek judgment on that. Cut our loses yes it our loses because it is we the tax payers paying. We going to loose all legal costs and all costs get the sanctions lifted. It’s not our business If the USA or whoever put back sanctions on the vessel if it return to her. Let them fight their own battle. Time to cut our loses Mr.Swell Headed.

      • Why isn’t it theft? Since you CLAIM to know.

See what I did there @ LOVE … probably not! 😁

Lovely, a new ANR adversary for Brixtonian. Wonderful.

The more the merrier. Bring it!!!

  5. So I’m confused.
Why did it end up on the sanctions list?
Why did she let it stay stagnant to the point that all the staff left cause they weren’t getting paid?
Why did she stop paying the docking fees?
Was she incarcerated hence why she didn’t come forward before?
🤔 Is it just me or did these questions come up to anyone else?
    No! Moving right along

    • No. You are not the ONLY one. Because this part of the story not sweet to the Gaston haters. So they forgot about the fact that over two years ago the people who ACTUALLY owned the boat decided to hide it here. They forgot that the registration was pulled from it by the TWO countires that it was registered in. They forgot that the captain said he lost is house, his wife and his family. They forgot that the crew dwindled because they used up ALL the money and food onboard and the majority of the crew left because the boat was abandonded.
But the reason they CHOOSE to forget because remembering would ACTUALLY make Antigua look good. And the operative is to make us look bad. Forgetting is here dem live. Dem forget the last few members on the boat said all they had to eat for weeks was the bare minimum.
But hey……. we only love scandal in this place. The truth is not what we are after.
Let Dorsett say what his client pay him to say, and we take that as gospel. When will we love our own over others!!!!!!

  6. SMH… FUNNY HOW PPL LOVE CHAT AND DONT KNOW THE LAW… YOU THINK IF THE COURTS GIVE HER BACK AND THE U.S PUT BACK THE SANCTIONS THE BOAT GONNA LEAVE? RIGHT IN ANTIGUA 🇦🇬 IT STILL GONNA STAY BECAUSE THEY NOT GONNA COME HERE FOR IT UNLESS THE SANCTIONS ARE LIFTED… ITS SO FUNNY THAT ONLY AFTER THE SANCTIONS WAS LIFTED ALL KIND OF PPL CLAIMING OWNERSHIP

    • And what is even more funny. Our people who is being the most and saying the most have not tried to do ANY investigations or research to know who the rightful owner/s are……

  7. One can not deny there are political issues to be concerned about in this matter.
As usual the local media continues in its failing of not researching the facts and analyzing their implications. Political commentators much of it uninformed, become the news; not only in Antigua and Barbuda but across the Caribbean
One such example being Gaston Puppet Master wrote an article in the Alpha Nero in ANR as a third party, in which he gave himself credit for negotiating with the US State Department; and orchestrating the removal of the restrictions.
He not only credits himself with enabling seizure and auction of the boat; but congratulations from himself to himself.
Today after leading Lester Bird in a number of ill faith decisions; he continues in his role as ambassador and chief political strategist.
In the 30 plus years (four decades) the most influential and long lasting person; who has guided the ABLP movement, and continues to work from the sidelines like a stealth bomber with damaging effects. All of which is ignored.

    • “Today after leading Lester Bird in a number ill faith decisions; he continues in his role as ambassador and chief political strategist”.

This is why @ Winston Goodwin that I regularly highlight the unproductive 40-odd years of Birdism and Browneism from the ABLP government.

        • … and Lester Bird did absolutely nothing for Antigua & Barbuda whilst in office; and I repeat again that in the last 53 years of governance, 40 years of it was under the tutelage of Birdism and Browneism. Tek dat!

Remember @ LOVEOFCOUNTRY, those with a history of bad behaviour are always the first ones accused.

As one of my favourite Caribbean sayings goes:

“All fish 🐠 does bite, but shark 🦈 doe get di blame”

YOU AIN’T FOOLING ANYONE ON HERE, YOU UTTER GOVERNMENT SHILL …

          • Lester Bird did nothing for Antigua and Barbuda you say??? Man you really are an internet troll. He might not have been all that but he sure as hell did more for Antigua than Balwin Spencer and Gaston Browne. Heritage Quay, Vendor Mall, Public Market, West Bus Station Teminal The Arbutior, The Governament office complex ect… never mind he had to deal with devastating hurricanes like Louis and George in 1995 and 1998. Man you really need to STFU and come off the internet.

          • @ Chupes, the fact that you put Lester Bird governance ahead of Baldwin Spencer’s short tenure of Antigua & Barbuda says more about your WAYWARD mindset and BLIND support of the unproductive DECADES from the ABLP.

I THINK YOU SHOULD REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE INTERNET AND THEN STFU … WHATEVER THAT MEANS.

            What say you boss?

  8. Local contractors are not paid but the government finds money to upkeep the Alfa Nero. Now our tax dollars are being also used to fight legal battles against the rightful owner and against the American second place bidder. It’s only a matter of time before GB lead administration is out of office. Just don’t call the St.Mary’s Election now – calling a general election and ABLP will not win a single seat.

    • No. You are not the ONLY one. Because this part of the story not sweet to the Gaston haters. • Our Parliament urgently needs to call a motion of ‘NO CONFIDENCE’ @ Frankly Speaking, so that Antiguans can be rid itself of the awful decisions and inactions of this ABLP government.

Since being re-elected several months ago, their decisions on financial matters and running the country has got markedly worse.

      I DIDN’T THINK THIS WAS POSSIBLE …

      • Anyone who puts the country (water and road infrastructures) and their citizens first (paying wages, overtime and pensions on time and a regular basis), and not greed, avarice and self-enrichment.

Is that ok with you @ LOVE OF COUNTRY, you GOVERNMENT mouthpiece and SHILL …

      • I was wondering who you are but you’ve just said it. You are repeating the question consistently but not refuting the claims at all. If you suppose that you have the answers, then speak up and put the subject to rest. No one has learnt anything from you today. Gaston needs to monitor what you folks offer and compensate you accordingly.

  9. And what is even more funny. Our people who is being the most and saying the most have not tried to do ANY investigations or research to know who the rightful owner/s are……

    • Why not back up your useless SOUNDBITES with facts and figures, so that critical and independent thinkers can check up on what you are trying to infer.

BTW, is that you Gassssston 🥸 or a cabinet member? 😁

    • I was not going to comment but then I realize Russia has war ships and submarines in the Atlantic Ocean and is well positioned to defend its citizens and their assets. What does Antigua have, Gaston Browne? Think about it. When the Russians come, I hope they consider that regular Antiguans have nothing to do with stealing their yacht.

  10. @ LOVE OF COUNTRY FIRST!!!!!
It’s useless to have an exchange with individuals who “projects” the way that you doIts a character flaw; something like Trump.
You are like the girl who wears way too much makeup while complaining about other females makeup only because you are uncomfortable with your own makeup skills.
The old sage VC Bird Sr. said something to the extent: When Dogs bark, the productive ones moves on.
