APOLOGY AND RETRACTION

Antigua Newsroom extends an unreserved apology to the Honourable Minister Melford Nicholas, Member of Parliament for the St. John’s City East Constituency, for a defamatory comment that appeared on our platform on April 14, 2025, at 8:17 a.m., under an article relating to the City East Constituency.

The comment in question contained false and offensive allegations regarding Minister Nicholas’s personal and professional conduct. We acknowledge that these statements were wholly untrue, malicious in nature, and should not have been published. We deeply regret the hurt and reputational harm caused to Minister Nicholas and his family.

Antigua Newsroom takes defamatory comments very seriously. While we maintain a moderation system aimed at curbing harmful or abusive content, this comment regrettably slipped through. We are taking further steps to strengthen our monitoring protocols to prevent future occurrences.
