The Government of Antigua & Barbuda has confirmed that only one person has tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to the chief of staff Lionel Hurst, all the other suspected cases for which tests were undertaken have all come back negative.
The single positive case is said to be confined to her home and is recovering. She is 21 years old.
The Government is urging the public to be responsible and discipline, in observing the hygienic, health and safety protocols established to avoid becoming a victim of the Covid-19 virus.

Nobody dies from coronavirus itself, they die from the complications coming from underlying health issues.
We are trying to slow down the spreading of this virus so if our older folks or family or friends who have underlying health issues (diabetes, heart disease, etc) get sick, there will be enough room at the hospital (ICU) for them to recover well and not have to die from the complications.
We can’t stop the virus unless there’s is a vaccine. But we can slow it down from spreading rapidly. This should also buy us some time until there is a vaccine.
