Antigua’s Nurses Association Gains Approval for Incentive Plans from Cabinet

0

After extensive negotiations spanning years, the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has granted approval to the Antigua and Barbuda Nurses Association (ABNA) for a series of proposals aimed at boosting nurse incentives.

These measures include salary increases, travel allowances, session pay, and enhanced healthcare benefits encompassing eye and dental care, along with annual checkups.

The government also agreed to waive hospital user fees, introduce shift allowances, elevate uniform allowances, and offer duty-free vehicle concessions.

The ABNA’s Vice President, Arlea Gregoire, revealed positive Cabinet responses, with finalization slated for August’s end.

These incentives aim to retain nurses amidst migration trends for better opportunities.
