Antigua’s Marver Woodley and Jamaica’s Amanda Rowe Appointed to Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network Executive Team

Two young Caribbean climate advocates have been appointed to leadership roles in the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN), reinforcing the region’s growing influence in global climate action. Marver Woodley of Antigua and Barbuda will serve as the Capacity Building & Events Lead, while Amanda Rowe of Jamaica takes on the role of Capacity Building & Events Lead Assistant for the CYCN Executive Committee for 2025–2027.

In their new positions, Woodley and Rowe will spearhead training, workshops, and events aimed at equipping young people across the Commonwealth with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle climate challenges. The Capacity Building & Events Unit plays a crucial role in empowering youth leaders, fostering engagement, and strengthening climate advocacy networks on an international scale.

Their appointments highlight the Caribbean’s commitment to climate resilience and leadership, as Small Island Developing States (SIDS) continue to push for action on climate change. Woodley and Rowe bring passion, expertise, and regional perspectives to the CYCN, ensuring that youth voices from the Caribbean are heard in global climate discussions.

The Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network serves as a platform for young people across 56 Commonwealth nations to collaborate on climate-related issues, advocate for policy changes, and drive sustainable initiatives in their respective countries.
