Antigua’s Education Facilities Receive Air-Conditioning, Starting with Newfield Primary School

In a move to enhance the learning environment for students, Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda announced that Newfield Primary School will be fully air-conditioned this week.

This marks the beginning of a comprehensive plan to improve the educational facilities in the region, with Golden Grove, Cedar Grove, Adele School, and Villa Primary School soon to follow suit.

The introduction of air conditioning to these schools aims to provide students and teachers with a more comfortable and conducive environment for learning.

As the project gets underway, it demonstrates the government’s commitment to advancing the quality of education in Antigua and Barbuda.

  2. I have no problem with this initiative, as long as the intentions are on the up and up and not to score political points.
    Too often, decisions are made hastily, without proper planning, only to have it blow up in our faces. Here are a few questions.
    WILL APUA be responsible for powering these units? Of course. Many schools have solar panels on their roofs sitting idly. Could they not be utilized to ease the demands on APUA?
    Then there is the question of maintenance. A barrage of mold infested government offices resulted in people getting sick, because of lack of servicing these units.( I have a family member who is suffering from the mold).
    Besides, was there not a suggestion to not use these type of units for AC?
    I know the Gastonites and Labourites will be up in arms over these questions, but it seems like party has replaced common sense.

  3. That is progress because lot of schools in New York City don’t have air conditioning.

  4. Thats what I am saying schools in the usa don’t have AC unit and Caribbean schools have.

    Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Government ought to be commended!
