I cannot stay quiet. But this has been long the views of all of us older golfers. Lester Bird shared that view that the location of Cedar Valley Golf Course was and is one of the best in the region. Yes it need lots of maintenance and the fairways need to be dug up and placed with much softer turf. Many of us have over the years developed injuries in our elbows, knees and shoulders because of the clay on the fairway, and the cow grass frowing on it. The putting greens are much better.
Playing Golf in Antigua is relatively cheaper than in the other caribbean Islands. Making it accessible for the common man. It is equal to a monthly Gym membership. And you can play anytime you like. What we need to invest in are proper driving ranges and putting fields. A player should be able afyter work to just go on the range and practive a bucket of balls. The one and only driving range only cater for one to two drivers at the time. We need ranges that cater for at least 10 players at the time. I know their is no room for it, so perhaps it could be a lucrative business for someone to think of.
