An Antiguan man is behind bars after police say he crashed his vehicle into a sanitation worker and left the scene in Union City, Georgia.
Union City employee Brandon McCrary was killed in the crash earlier this week.
Reports say McCrary was picking up trash along the side of the road when he was hit by the vehicle John was driving. John is said to have also hit a guard rail before leaving the scene of the accident.
Officers were able to track down the driver, 27 year-old Joel John Junior by following tire marks left at the scene.
John Junior facing two felony charges: hit-and-run and homicide by vehicle, 1st degree. He is also facing a few other misdemeanor charges, including tampering with evidence, driving while unlicensed, failure to report an accident, and failure to maintain a lane.
John Junior is the son of a Dominican mother and Antiguan father and was said to be a student of the St. John’s Catholic Primary and the Antigua Grammar School when he was living in Antigua.

Inquiring minds want to know who the Antiguan father is? School children says that it is a very prominent person in society. If this is true, why wasn’t it mentioned? Would this have been differently outlined if it were someone from the grassroot of society?

Feel so, so bad for this guy. Nice quiet, pleasant, well mannered little boy he was in our community. I can only imagine the fright that made him take flight

Nosey? Really? A young man is dead from an out of control, unlicensed driver and left on the side of the road as if he were part of the trash he was cleaning. IMO the biological father needs to do a whole lot of reflection on the subject of missing in action fatherhood.
oh my I am so sorry that this happened. He is a good guy and I can only imagine how he was terrified when this occurred.
