Antiguan farmer Twin I Payne has captured the top prize at Agrifest 2026 in St. Croix, securing back-to-back victories at the regional agricultural showcase.
The announcement was shared by the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy, which congratulated Payne on what it described as an outstanding achievement that once again places Antigua and Barbuda on the regional agricultural stage.
Agrifest, held annually in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, brings together farmers, agro-processors and exhibitors from across the Caribbean to showcase livestock, crops, and value-added products.
Payne’s consecutive wins mark a rare accomplishment at the event, highlighting consistency and excellence in agricultural production.
The ministry said the achievement serves as an inspiration to farmers and young people across Antigua and Barbuda, particularly those entering the sector.

Officials noted that Payne’s performance demonstrates the high standard of local agriculture and reflects the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen food production and regional competitiveness.
Agrifest is regarded as one of the Caribbean’s premier agricultural fairs, drawing participants and visitors from across the region each year.

Well done ….. he has been doing this since school years 💪🏾🥰👍🏽
Congratulations. You are winning awards because your produce are award winning but is the government ensuring/mandating hotels get at least 30 or 50% of their options (needs) from local providers/farmers like you? Doing this would substantially increase farming, food security, and expand the economy beyond simply how tourism does.
Also, how is it that Twin I won in another country, did he literally had to ship the produce to that country? That places him at a disadvantage. Shipping your best risk harm to them but you still win, awesome job.
Now, let us focus on not only winning prizes but making you wealthier by connecting you and your farm with manufacturers, restaurants and consumers in general.
Who has the vision to turn this into more that just a trophy?
Great! Oops!.that’s an American territory that don’t do any real agriculture, let see Antigua up against Dominica and Santo Domingo or st Vincent.
@?, I was thinking that but did not want to hurt anyone’s feelings and tried to look away. But it is a valid point that should motivate him to go bigger and not to take this fact in a negative way.
However, the fact he is winning these awards, I am pretty sure I would be able to get him a US greencard based on EB-1 or EB-2NIW.
Well done. Keep shining
Big up to Twin I, carrying on the Legacy of his Mother and Father. Congratulations young man. Never mind the naysayers. Continue sharing your knowledge and wealth of experience.
I would love to know how much of his produce makes it into the kitchens of the top restaurants and hotels?
That would be a great market to jump off from with those bodies partnering in the marketing and advertising of his produce.
just can’t give a man flowers and leave there, huh? this country of ours, i tell you.
