Antiguan Deported from U.S. as Another Awaits Court Hearing—Ambassador Sanders Confirms

Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the United States, Sir Ron Sanders, has confirmed that one Antiguan has been deported from the U.S., while another remains in custody awaiting a court hearing.

According to Ambassador Sanders, as of his last update before February 7, two Antiguans were in U.S. immigration detention. One of them was deported on February 7, while the other is awaiting legal proceedings that will determine whether they will be deported or remain in the country.

Ambassador Sanders also addressed claims that 110 Antiguans and Barbudans are listed as “non-detained and ready for deportation.” However, when he inquired about the whereabouts of these individuals, an official from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reportedly responded, “I don’t know.”

The confirmation from Antigua and Barbuda’s top diplomat in Washington highlights the ongoing immigration challenges affecting nationals of the twin-island nation, as U.S. authorities continue to process deportation cases.

  1. Haha, well, looks like even the officials are scratching their heads on this one! Can you imagine the ambassador’s face when they said, “I don’t know”? Priceless! 😂 Let’s hope they find some answers soon.

  2. Thats how they “Treat third world Countries” Diplomats , if the Antiguan Ambassador give their agent that “Blunt” Response it would not be the end of it 🙄🙄🙄

  3. Government of Antigua and Barbuda. All those who committed certain crimes in Antigua and Barbuda should be deported .They would do their times in 1735. Upon completion,be deported from whence they came.Never to be returned to Antigua and Barbuda.

  4. I suppose the good Ambassador cannot give the reasons for their deportation for human rights reasons. They broke the law and were arrested and their deportation has nothing to do with Trump. Not sure about the one that has already been sent back but the pending one is for DUI – driving under the influence. Or in other words driving while drunk. He will probably come back here and do the same thing.
